Trying to get the babysitting thing secured so we can enjoy this special weekend with Lu. Does anyone know if there will be an opening band (assuming Buick 6)? Our tickets say 7:00. Think that’s a true time?

30 years to celebrate. Thank you Lu for every thing you do…

I know that there is no opening band all three nights.

As far as the time stated on the tickets, my guess is that is the time for “doors”, with the show starting at 8:00 PM. But, don’t quote me on that! 😉

Just an observation (use at your own discretion), but the Irving Plaza (Live Nation) website now specifies each show starting at 8:30, rather than the 8:00 originally announced. I believe this format has no opening act…Lucinda will highlight the 3 albums for that evening, take a break, and then return with a set of other songs.

Thanks a bunch, guys. Looks like no opening act, doors open at 7, and show begins at 8:30. See you there!

In Charlottesville the opening act duties were done by her back-up band Buick6. The set was well rehearsed, all instrumental, and very good. The style was spacier than Lucinda, almost experimental. They opened with a Radiohead song and closed the set with a medley of Led Zep riffs. The high point for me was a percussion based jam that started with a quiet drum and snowballed into sonic bliss.
I hope to see them again…. 4 professional musicians who love what they do, and they looked like they were having fun.
