    Great opening show!
Lu seemed to be in a great mood and called it a “great way to kick off” the multi night stand.
Definitely was. Looking forward to tonight!

Thanks for this, Mike. The first encore song was actually “Doors of Heaven” from the new record. After it, Lu went on about “no one can call me a perfectionist anymore,” so maybe she was displeased with the live version? She didn’t seem unhappy, though. Amos Lee got a shout-out before tune 19, which was actually not “changed the locks” but “A Change’s Gonna Come” (sorry Mike). I think they did that one in Philly.

What can be said about “Can’t Close the Door on our Love”? My first live, treasured forever.

Great reports! Must be spring break for you, stoger?

Whoa. Lucinda mentioned Amos from last week? BOOM! I could see that. I’ve watched several amazing versions she has performed, and I know Amos has covered “A Change Is Gonna Come” many times. I saw him perform it at a Farm Aid fundraiser. I wish I could have witnessed it live.

Carry on, road warriors. We’re living vicariously through you.

Spring break is next week, so Mike will take the lead this week. Boston and Toronto should be lovely by mid/late March.

Excellent news, Hot_Blooded! Perhaps she will do ‘Hot Blood’ 8) I’m sure tonight’s show will be an amazing finale to an amazing week of shows.

I don’t think this has been posted.

Recap with a multitude of pictures. Good to see Buick 6 is still autographing drum heads with siggies and words of wisdom.

Thanks for that! Very nice shots.
Particularly like the black and white with the whole band onstage.

Heard afterwards that there were 75 or so different songs played during that run..
Great residency for Lu and the band.

    75 songs? Nice.

That is a great shot of Lu and the band. And David’s hair.

    From Tom:
I’ve done it again -fallen behind on keeping these setlists up. In there interest of catching back up here are all 5 of the setlists from New York. The idea on this tour was to play smaller rooms and do multiple nights and so far it’s been a smash success. It’s a lot less wear and tear on Lu and I think we all like to be in one place for a few days. But it also seems like the audiences appreciate the more intimate shows. I guess you would call that a win win situation. So many highlights over these 5 nights I won’t even attempt to name (remember) them all. We’re getting to break in a lot of the brand new songs. Dust is quickly becoming one of the centerpieces of the set—and it’a little different every night. These residency shows allow us to change the sets every night even more than we usually do—and lets us dig deeper into the catalog. By my count we did 61 different songs in these five shows-and there was a still a ton of great things we didn’t get to.. Lu loves to be able to do of songs we don’t get to do very often. It’s always great to have some time in NYC and this time we caught some good weather. I should mention that we had a great dinner on the night of at Peasant. Just incredibly good. Thanks to everyone at the City Winery for their fantastic hospitality. And thanks to everyone who came out and made these shows great. We are well aware that they sold out very fast so we just might have to come back soon and do it again.
