Buick 6 right on time at 800p, finished up at 840p. Someone from the back yelled out while Butch was talking to “lower it down”. Butch replied with a promise to “keep it mellow” for him but followed that with a warning that it’s going to get even louder when Lucinda comes out. “it’s Friday night and she is not in folk mood”!

Lu came on at 916p, played until 1113p by my watch. Not much to say to the audience for the first 3 numbers but she was pretty talkative after that and the audience was very respectful–no hoots and hollers interruptions.

Academy of Music is a great old theater, I prefer it to the other similar sized venue in town (Calvin).

Back to the pros for reports for the rest of the tour….

I call yours a professional report, ducknapped. Excellent asides on Butch, the three-finger signal, etc. I’ve seen Lu at Calvin and also outdoors near Northampton–not sure about Academy of Music. She once played a couple of blues covers extra there because there was a certain resistance to that strain of her catalogue by certain (dare I say it) female fans. But thanks for the report.
