ParticipantThis morning, the Mountain Winery announced its summer concert series. Lucinda Williams is listed as the performer for Wednesday evening, August 18, with special guest, Robert Earl Keen, starting at 7:30 PM. The Mountain Winery is an outdoor, reserved seat venue, in the foothills of Saratoga, California, near San Jose.
You can verify this listing from the Mountain Winery or Live Nation websites.
Note that the “yelp” reviews of the Mountain Winery have some very negative comments regarding this facility. Parking is now $15 for carpools, $20 without a carpool. There is an extremely strict music curfew at 10:30 PM, with plugs being pulled on famous performers. There is a 20 minute intermission between acts: do the math, and don’t expect a Lucinda marathon. Also, be prepared for a tedious drive on a winding road, entering and exiting.

ParticipantDoesn’t sound like the best of venues, and way, WAY out of the way for me in Georgia, but perhaps it is a foretelling of a late summer / early fall tour! So, good news nonetheless! Thanks for posting, paul_from_losangeles!

Participantyeah but with ROBERT EARL KEEN!
he rarely plays here in the Northeast, and every time he does there is a schedule conflict …he’s one of my favorite artists that I’ve never seen.

Very encouraging news indeed.
Also see Lu’s availability Sep.-Dec. on the High Road Touring site.
Hope it all comes to fruition.

ParticipantI just received Pollstar notification on this show as well! I would love to attend…what a ticket! I had tentative plans to be in LA the month of August, however, they have fallen to the wayside. Fingers crossed this does turn into a fall tour.
My fall may be very busy…Lucinda, JM and Amos Lee all expected to release records this fall!

Participant…and it has now show up in the “upcoming shows” list at HRT. Nice to see something, ANYTHING there after the multi-month drought!! 😉

ParticipantYou gotta admit, Mr. Speaker, that the posts that “get fired up” get the most reads and hits… That’s not a bad thing! Dialog and commentary might be “off topic” but it sure makes for interesting reading…

Yo Paul, do you think that together we would constitute a “carpool?” I’d be willing to go seven and a half bucks to sit on your Passenger Side [early Wilco reference for David-in-M] while you navigate those torturous winding roads upward. Yeah, it’s a drag. I’ve rented cars out of both Oakland and San Jose for this venue; there’s no avoiding it to get to Saratoga. Nary a hotel within striking distance either–four-star or otherwise. Saratoga Village does have a youth hostel, doubt we’re eligible there though. At any rate, here’s to High Road for starting the ball rolling. . . .

ParticipantVery well placed Wilco reference. Well placed, indeed! I wish I had five bucks to put into the tank for you.
