Lu’s Facebook page is polling fans on what they think the cover should be on the re-release: The original cover or the photo on the original blown up. I say do the blow up on the CD (due to the CD’s smaller physical size) and the original on the vinyl.

We are hustling like crazy to make a 11/12 or 11/19 release date -the regular version, which was remastered last Sat night, will include a bonus live show from May of 89. The deluxe version will include a special package and third disc, which should include the 86 CBS demos -we just have to figure out all the credits, like who is actually playing on them etc.
Hi, any news about the reisseue ?
Still on scedule for the release date ?I’m very much looking foreward to it.

The sets will be available on CD, vinyl and digital. However, it appears as though the vinyl version will be a single record containing only the tracks from the original 1988 record. In lieu of a second record there will be a download card for the bonus tracks.
The sets are available from the usual suspects, including your favorite independent record store, and limited edition sets with more bonus stuff are available from Pledge Music.
November 21, 2013 at 5:22 pm #51969LWjettaParticipantJust a short congrats. to Lucinda, Tom O and the rest of this crew on this long-awaited project coming to fruition.
Both the press release and the link to the Pledge Music site were welcome postings. I trust there will be a long and profitable relationship with 12th Street Records / Thirty Tigers. Nice to go to an independent label for a change.
A couple of questions please. On the 2nd disc appears the song “Goin’ Back Home” live from NOISE-THis is the only one I have not heard on his disc.
I know the song was re-recorded as a bonus track for the Koch S/T accompanied by Taj Mahal, but this live version remains a mystery. i.e. The only things I discovered were recorded in January, 1983 in NYC and written by an unknown author as a traditional song.
I assume NOISE is a now closed night club, but would like to know a bit of its history.
I’m looking forward to this live version.Secondly in reference to the Pledge Music site I’m a little surprised that they ask for your e=mail password when subscribing.
Finally only as a suggestion: If you haven’t thought of it all ready for the cover artwork-a sticker on the 25th anniversary as was done for Essence for the Grammy.
See my big scan of my disc cover and scroll down. Would be a nice touch to highlite this achievement.

So many sites just do MP3, but I’m an Audiophile nerd: I want the vinyl, but if I only get a lossy download, then I’d have to plump for CD instead. Can I suggest/plead that there are other download options, like Flac lossless and/or the Holy Grail… 24bit or higher ?
Thanks,
Joe, Dublin.November 25, 2013 at 2:17 am #51973TraneParticipant@BlueKoyote wrote:

Thanks,
Joe, Dublin.I second that, flac in 16-44.1 is what I expect, highres in 24-96 would be great !
November 27, 2013 at 7:13 pm #51974LWjettaParticipantThought I would post this great pic. after I found it on one of the recent announcements for the re-release.
I’m assuming it’s never before published and will be in the revised liner notes for the S/T.[attachment=0:2mq06bnu]Lucinda-williams-1113-2.jpg[/attachment:2mq06bnu]lwj

December 18, 2013 at 11:22 pm #51977punchdrunkloveParticipantthe old cover is approximately one hundred times better but that’s no detriment to this luminous release. the best reissue of SOMETHING maybe ever?
congratulations.
December 18, 2013 at 11:23 pm #51978punchdrunkloveParticipant(a better release would be every version possible of SIDE OF THE ROAD. i can live without the other songs.)
December 18, 2013 at 11:25 pm #51979punchdrunkloveParticipantwhere can i find the list of songs from the second disc? curious about them.
20 seconds later: found it.
