Everyone keeps dropping hints about Lu’s new record from Margo Price to Ray Kennedy. I’ve also seen many “Big year for Lu dropping a book and new album.”

So we know the book is out on 4/25…

Anyone have a time frame of the record? They all keep saying “2023.”

For fun it appears to be shaping up to be quite the new record:

    1. Stolen Moments
    2. Let’s Get the Band Back Together
    3. New York Comeback (co-written w/ Jesse Malin)
    4. What Could Go Wrong (Working on A Song)

I’d love to see We’ve Come To Far Too Turn Around get its justice on a full Lu record. Maybe a cover or 2? I’ve always thought it a shame Lu never finished “Port Arthur/Difficult Child”

    Whatcha ya’ll thinking?

I believe Tom told me June 30, sean–thus coinciding with Day One of Fitzgerald’s American Music Fest near Chicago, Lu’s set.

Amazingly, I heard “Port Arthur” live in Cleveland at the tribute to Janis J quite a few years ago. She was working on it up until show time, according to all accounts. “Lafayette” was in attendance. Anyway, I have a hazy memory of Tom saying they recorded it at some point, but don’t hold me to that. Is it “finished?” Who knows?

You can find a version of “We’ve Come Too Far…” on the record Lu made with Charles Lloyd, but I agree we need it on an upcoming album.

Are we sure the song about Prine called “What Could Go Wrong” will be on the new record? Probably, but it might have been worked up only live.

2023 will be glorious for us Lu-heads, yes.

    Interesting (June 30…)

Will be great! Maybe they plan on just dropping it with not much promo…

Margo said it will be on the record.

Oh, I believe a publicity “rush” will be worked in before the summer season.

Well, Price & Kennedy are both good sources. This is more than shaping up nicely: whoo hoo!!
