Just goes to show you, even if only 10 people are in the bar, good things can happen 😀

Yup. Anne is rapidly moving up on my Top 5 list. I’ll get to see her in August in Canada as I reported earlier.

Here is an excellent and lengthy interview with Anne from Pure Music. ( never heard of this web site before-it’s great )
Some very nice photos of Anne and one of Lucinda.
At the very end of the interview you can watch two clips of Anne performing at the Mercy Lounge where you went to see Amos the other night.
Once you have read this interview, go back to the very first paragraph and click on we interviewed her and another long interview comes up with Anne going into detail about meeting Lu as well as her year in Viet Nam.

By the way, did you snag any NEIL tickets the next day?

    Here is the interview.

Not too much longer to wait for Anne’s new CD.
In the meantime, I found Anne’s showcase performance ( a full 47 minutes of live music ) from the Americana Music Conference 2006.
    From mvyradio’s archives.(Martha’s Vineyard Radio)
    Lots of great guitar riffs.
    Enjoy.

I received my (autographed!) pre-sale copy of Broken Promise Land in the mail yesterday, and have listened to it once. It is definitely a “rockin'” side of Anne (imprinted on the face of the CD is the exhortation, “PLAY LOUD!” 😉 ), and I enjoyed it very much! Songs that stood out in my mind after only one listen include the first single, “Don’t Go To Texas (Without Me)”, the title track, “Broken Promise Land” (a great driving rocker) & “Motorcycle Dream”, a moody, atmospheric tune that departs from most of the rest of the album’s straight out rock & roll.

    Highly recommended!

    Tom
