ParticipantMy brother is in NY seeing Jack White for 2 nights at Radio City. He ran into some guys after the JW show who saw Neil and they said it was great. It looked really cool on TV. Fuse had it in Dolby Digital and palladia didnt? Hoping Neil eventually ends up back near here.

KeymasterI finished reading Waging Heavy Peace. It is very simply written. A blog really. But if you’re on the Neil Young trip it’s worth reading.
Stoger would give it a C+ at best. 😉

KeymasterPsychedelic Pill arrived today and I am listening to it now. Takes up 2 cds! I had heard most of the songs already, either from the Central Park concert that was on TV, the NY & CH show at the Hollywood Bowl, and the 2 Bridge School shows. So I was ready for it.
Neil’s guitar playing is great. Crazy Horse also plays great. There are some tremendous jams on this record. Neil says in his book that these are the first songs he has written not stoned. Some of the lyrics are the simplest he has ever written; no attention given to rhyme or rhythm. A couple of the songs you could switch the lyrics with other songs and it would not make any difference.
Great, warm sounding record with Neil wailing away on Old Black like crazy is what we have here. I give it an A plus.

ParticipantGood news, tony. I’d heard/read enough ahead of time, thanks to you & LWj, that I knew NEIL! had a winner. Should have my copy by the weekend….. 😀
