Congratulations Neil.
Neil Young has received 3 Grammy nominations: one for Best Rock Album (Le Noise) and two for “Angry World,” for Best Rock Song and Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance.

December 6, 2010 at 11:08 pm #33297tonygKeymasterClassic Grammy cluelessness. Who decides these things? This album and song are only worthy of an award if you are deaf. Apologies to deaf people.
I have listened to this CD twice in the past month, which doubles the number of times I listened to Fork in The Road since its release. It’s like he is trying to make unlistenable music.
I would rather just listen to Tonight’s The Night over and over and over.

I feel this way about JM being overlooked for “No Better Than This.”
December 7, 2010 at 2:15 am #33299TOverbyParticipantGiven the little recognized fact that he has never won a Grammy, I am definitely pulling for him. At this point I don’t think it matters if the recent work is up to par or not-at the very least I would think of it as a Lifetime Achievement Grammy.

“Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis was the only artist of the night to truly channel the spirit of Crazy Horse. Backed by a tight three-piece band, he played a fuzzed-out “Cortez The Killer” that was absolutely smoking.”

He had never been honoured by the show during his ’60s and ’70s heyday, and only in recent years claimed an award for the packaging of his “Archives” set. He won Sunday for best rock song for “Angry World.”
“Thank you everybody, thank you to the Grammys and all the people who, y’know, are part of that,” said Young, who seemed pleased – even amused – by the honour, and rubbed the trophy as he clutched it.
“I appreciate this very much. This is my first Grammy for music. … I’d like to thank my lovely wife, Pegi – she’s been with me for 33 and a third years of marriage, keeping me rocking.”

February 14, 2011 at 9:42 pm #33304LeftyParticipantNEIL! (after receiving his Grammy): “I’m not Mavis, but I’m close!”
Apparently Mavis Staples endured a longer Grammy dryspell than NEIL! Congratulations to both.February 14, 2011 at 9:56 pm #33305tonygKeymasterHilarious that he finally gets a Grammy for that song.
Bob’s performance was interesting. That’s exactly what he was like when I saw him at the Paladium a year or so ago.
February 15, 2011 at 1:49 pm #33306LeftyParticipant“Interesting” is a nice way to put it, tony. I’m just glad that Bob didn’t trip over that bass fiddle on the stage floor… 🙄
