Thx for the great post Lefty! 😀
April 4, 2010 at 2:26 am #33267LafayetteParticipantApril 4, 2010 at 3:22 pm #33268LWjettaParticipantHey Lafayette
When you recently went to see Amos in Nashville, did you get any NEIL tickets for the Ryman?
lwjApril 4, 2010 at 5:12 pm #33269LafayetteParticipantNo, lwj, I decided against getting tickets for now. DH told me he would rather just wait to see Neil at Farm Aid. HOWEVER, I may look as it gets closer to the date and if I decide to go, try to pick up tickets closer to the date.
I am woman, and subject to changes of heart and mind, at any given moment. 😯

That’s Kool women.
I’m hoping Farm Aid ends up in Vermont this year, but the last newsletter I received doesn’t give me a clue as to location.

What’s with the fancy smilies? Are you trying to catch up with our moderator?
ha ha.
I’ll be purchasing NEIL’s new DVD ( Trunk Show )from the Ryman when available.
The trailer and other clips I’ve seen are great.
lwjApril 13, 2010 at 10:20 pm #33271LWjettaParticipantQuite a few more tour dates added for NEIL.

May 19, 2010 at 6:30 pm #33273LeftyParticipantThanks for that post, Tim. Hope you’re doing well.
“And when he did speak, it was cryptic and weird.”
It would concern me more if NEIL! were not cryptic and weird 😕

June 3, 2010 at 1:30 pm #33275TimParticipantTremendous song Lefty! Thank you for posting. NEIL is still NEIL!
June 25, 2010 at 10:08 pm #33276LWjettaParticipantWe all know NEIL’s show ticket prices are rather high for us poor folks, so I thought I’d turn the clock back to 1989 and provide a live “freebie.”
This is from KRO Radio 2 Legendarisch Live public radio in Amersterdam Dec.10/89 from the Stopera.
The radio station has been in continuous operation since 1925.
A full 50 minutes of great listening with the last cut on the concert being quite a different sounding version of “Keep On Rockin’ “

lwjp.s. I had posted a Lu live concert earlier in the year from KRO Radio 2 in Eindhoven that is to be part of the anxiously awaited Lucinda 3 CD/DVD box set.
June 26, 2010 at 1:07 pm #33277LeftyParticipantExcellent, LWj. Thanks for posting. NEIL! & Bob have a definite mutual man-crush, going on many years 8)

August 3, 2010 at 7:36 pm #33279LWjettaParticipantHere is a real treat from Wolfgang’s Vault this week.
http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/playlists/neil-young-tribute/playlist-914640.html?utm_source=NL&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=100803
From Wolfgang’s Vault- 32 tracks total 2:38 hours
A Neil Young TributeHere is the entire summary of tracks. .Remember to listen you have to give your e-mail + a password.
The songs here are presented in the chronological order in which the concerts were recorded. There’s a little background blurb about each show, followed by the album on which the individual songs originally appeared.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse, 3/6/70
-After his initial stint with CSN, Young went in a loud-and-barely-in-tune rock and roll direction with Crazy Horse. Miles Davis played before them on this night, which may have made the group a little more beautifully reckless than usual.
01 – Everybody Knows this is Nowhere (1969)
02 – Unreleased at the time, but eventually on NY’s Decade compilation (1977)
03 – Everybody Knows this is Nowhere
CSNY, 6/4/70 – 6/6/70
-From the legendary 6-night run that the Four Way Street live album was recorded, these sets capture the super group on the heels of Deja Vu’s success and at a time when all four were working on solo albums. Each night began with an acoustic set which was followed with an electric set.
04 – Buffalo Springfield Again (1967)
05 – After the Gold Rush (1970)
06 – NY: Neil Young (1968)
07 – NYACH: Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
08 – NYACH: Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
09 – CSNY: Released as a single (1970)
10 – NY: After the Gold Rush
CSN, 3/26/72
-This concert was part of a Sheriff’s Benefit to raise awareness for prisoner issues with Crosby and Nash billed as the headliners. Young made a guest appearance and got a chance to try out some of the material he was working on for Harvest.
11 – Harvest (1972)
12 – Harvest
13 – Harvest
14 – Chris Smither covers ‘I Am a Child,’ originally released on Buffalo Springfield Again.
CSNY, 10/4/73
-This was another surprise reunion that took place after a Manassas concert. It was the first time all four musicians had shared a stage since 1970.
15 – Tonight’s The Night (1975)
16 – Comes A Time (1978); also rumored to be the working title of CSNY’s reunion album at the time.
17 – Tonight’s The Night
CSNY, 9/8/74
-On the final US night of their first full-blown reunion tour since 1970, the guys played for almost five hours. The tour marked the end of the super group’s golden era.
18 – On The Beach (1974)
19 – Harvest
20 – Time Fades Away (1973)
Neil Young, 3/23/75
-At Bill Graham’s SNACK Benefit Concert, Neil played on stage with Bob Dylan and members of The Band.
21 – Harvest
22 – Linda Ronstadt covers ‘Love Is A Rose,’ originally intended for the un-released Homegrown album and finally surfacing on Decade.
The Band, 11/25/76
-This is The Last Waltz.
23 – Deja Vu (1970)
24 – Written by Ian Taylor and eventually included on Comes A Time.
25 – Dream Syndicate covers ‘Mr. Soul,’ originally released on Buffalo Springfield Again
26 – Nicolette Larson performs ‘Lotta Love,’ originally released on Comes A Time (on which Larson provided harmonies)
Neil Young, 11/2/91
-Recorded at the Bridge School Benefit, Young was working on the upcoming Harvest Moon album with a reunited Stray Gators band. The Gators, along with Nicolette Larson, performed with him at this show.
27 – Long May You Run (1976, by the Stills-Young Band)
28 – After The Gold Rush
29 – Harvest Moon
CSNY and the Grateful Dead, 11/3/91
-The day after the Bridge School Benefit, San Francisco celebrated Bill Graham’s life after his tragic helicopter crash with a day of music. CSNY performed a set and then Neil joined the Dead on stage afterwards.
30 – After the Gold Rush
31 – Dylan cover
32 – The Dave Rawlings Machine cover “Cortez the Killer,” originally released on Young’s Yuma album. “Method Acting” is a song written by Bright Eyes.
Track #’s 01, 03,07 and 08 are Lefty’s.
Enjoy the music.
