I can’t afford both sets. Which would you recommend?
Does the L.A. World Without Tears really have just 10 tracks or is the listing wrong?
    tnx

I’ll answer your easier second question first. The listing is wrong. The entire album / first set is indeed on the CD.

As for which is best? I really can’t say as I can only afford one as well, & I purchased the LA set. I’ve heard mixed opinions from those who have both concerning which is “best” – after all, it is a subjective call…

Thanks…..Is there a difference in sound between them? Are they mixed for record or are they straight board mixes……board mixes are often unbalanced in favor of vocals and drums due to backline compensation.

Sound quality should be equal as they were done exactly the same way. Lucinda’s engineer on the last two studio records, Eric Liljestrand, was on site and mixing into Pro Tools from the live board feed.
It’s really hard to say which set is better, although I know the band feels like NY is a little better performance wise, while LA might have a little more between song storytelling about the songs. Overall they are very close.
