February 5, 2013 at 8:20 pm #51287LafayetteParticipantAnother review.
Lucinda Williams takes on Nashville at third Dakota set. Mentions Jon Bream review from first night. BTW, Bream tweeted me back apologies on listing Changed The Locks as a Tom Petty song from his Night 1 review. 😉

Question:
Wake Up Call is listed in set list. Is this correct title? Cover? The only info I can find is a Maroon 5 song? 😳
Yeah, we need to clarify “Wake Up Call”–perchance the eighth new original song played out live by Lu?!?!?!? And “Goodbye Joe” is “Jambalaya,” no? Surely not the early Lu original with the phrase “Goodbye Bill”?
February 5, 2013 at 9:19 pm #51289LafayetteParticipantYes, yes on Jambalaya. Big ‘duh’ from me for blowing that one. Also, never gave thought to another new song?? 😯

Maybe it’s a new song or is it writer’s error as these exact words were quoted in the review you posted as per below.
while “Reason to Cry” saw Williams hitting her stride, with help on the fiddle from opening supporter Lillie Mae Rische and Pettibone striking chords like they were a wake-up call.
And Lafayette, I just couldn’t resist posting this image from your first report last night on your social media skills obtaining bits and pieces of the show from Twitter.[attachment=0:zv9ckepo]Lafayette- The Tweety Bird.jpg[/attachment:zv9ckepo]

Subliminal mistake, perhaps.
Thanks for the correction.

Perhaps the moderator could merge my Night 3 post? I found a great review with setlist.
Done!

February 9, 2013 at 7:17 pm #51294LafayetteParticipant“I Need Protection” From the Feb 6 Dakota Jazz Club show, as documented on YouTube. I did a quick search on setlist.fm and, from what I searched, this song may have only been performed one other time (at Stone Mountain Center, July 2012)?
Lu is so ‘on’ with this performance, and Doug, of course 🙂 :

Edit to add:
Apparently, this song was played at Bowery Ballroom, per this YouTube I found. This show not documented on setlist.fm (yet), however, stoger and company made note of it in this thread: https://www.lucindawilliams.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3212&start=15&hilit=bowery+ballroom
Video of “I Need Protection” from the Bowery Ballroom show, full band. I hope this makes it on the new record. LOVE it!
February 9, 2013 at 9:10 pm #51295tonygKeymasterI think they did it at the Henry Miller Library last year.

Thanks, tony, however, “I Need Protection” is a nada according to your posted set list –> viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3119&hilit=henry+miller
BTW, posting set lists to shows has been very helpful with documenting on setlist.fm. Thanks all! 🙂
Edit to add:
I’m going thru last summer’s shows and INP made the Santa Fe set list:
February 10, 2013 at 8:06 am #51297tonygKeymasterOk. Busted. I heard it somewhere though.
February 10, 2013 at 3:26 pm #51298LWjettaParticipantSeems appropriate to post this video from Night 5 at the Dakota.
Song is of course “Minneapolis” with Lu accompanied by fiddle and pedal steel.A fine ending to the first tour of 2013.

February 10, 2013 at 9:04 pm #51299stogerParticipantYes, “I Need Protection” (or “Protection,” as Lu introduced it a time or two) has been played maybe 3-4 times in my hearing, though that Dakota version is a nice reprise. And the title city song for night six, my my.
Lafayette, can I link to one place with all the Dakota set lists?

Believe she played it here I met you in Redding and then again in Vancouver where we were both in attendance as I recall..
Could be wrong though.
Great song. -
