Lucinda and her band resumed their tour last night In Minneapolis. They played a rousing 2 hour, 10 minute show. The band has changed again! Don Heffington is out on drums, replaced by Bruce Norton. They sounded great, and much tighter. She was in great spirits, and got better as the night went on. The encore was: Everything Has Changed

Get Right With God
Hard Time Killing Floor Blues
Ode To Billy Joe

ps – did anyone see the support, Carrie Rodriguez? I’m off to see her play on her UK tour in a few weeks – how’s she looking?
April 12, 2007 at 11:04 pm #32551Disco StuParticipantThanks for posting…I’m glad the show was a good one. Setlist looks pretty nice, especially the encore. I wouldn’t mind at all if she played the exact same thing tomorrow in Chicago (as long as she switches it up on Saturday, of course). 😉
April 13, 2007 at 2:38 pm #32552dhintzParticipantYes, Carrie Rodriguez opened for Lucinda and I thought was very good. She played for 37 minutes, mostly from her new album (I believe). She commented that it was a dream come true to open for Lucinda and also that Lucinda was her hero. Carrie is a very talented fiddle player and has a powerful voice. I’d definitely like to see her again. Check out her Website for a sample: http://www.carrierodriguez.com/
April 13, 2007 at 8:12 pm #32553AnonymousGuestThanks dhintz, interesting to see if Carrie can get a chance to jam with Lu on this tour – she can play fiddle and/or add harmonies – would be a good combination imho.
Looking forward to seeing Carrie play with her trio here in England – she has a great voice and some cool tunes.
April 14, 2007 at 2:32 am #32554TimParticipantCarrie Rodriquez was excellent. I met her before the show and she was astounded that I recognized her and told her how much I loved her new record. She let it all hang out and was very humble. Would love to see her do a number onstage with Lucinda. She was not nervous at all and sounded great!

She’s looking like “My, aren’t you a tall glass of water” — in other words: easy on the eyes and ears.I loved her solo set and playing with Lu.
