Thanks,Tom: just now reading this after Milwaukee experience, so I see West was represented before the tour ever hit Wisconsin. “Fancy Funeral” indeed! Great variance, though that 250 minimum food/drink cover mentioned in another stream gives a fan pause. Would a lone wolf with a backpack who might have nabbed a corner bar stool (if Dakota even sells such slots) been subject to this level of consumption to retain his seat? Wish I had been there to find out. . .

I know nothing about any $250 minimum-and still don’t -I had many friends and family attend the shows and not one mentioned a word to me of it happening to them or anyone around them. I stood at the back bar for all 3 shows and saw no evidence of that going on. I recall one night -the 2nd I believe, a group of 4 sitting at the table and they were only drinking and no one was pushing them to drink more etc.
Maybe it is something they do for the first row tables but I am not aware of it and I got exactly zero complaints about that -or for that matter anything. I have known the owner for years, as it turns out he is also from Austin Mn, -and he has built this club from the early days when it was a tiny jazz club in Bandana Square in St. Paul to what it is now. And he has largely built it on extreme hospitality to both his customers and and the artists. I am thrilled that after narrowly surviving on several occasions he has been able to diversify his bookings and make a real go at it. As the live music industry is continually evolving, for artists like Lucinda I believe these small intimate clubs will be a key component to the long term future on the live side. In other words we will need them.
