Has anyone ever met her? I really want to. Do you think she would sign tickets and stuff after one of her shows?
July 21, 2009 at 3:25 pm #40244LafayetteParticipantTake a chance because life is too short. You will never know unless you try!

Lu (and Tom, her manager) often accommodate fans after shows, with Lu graciously chatting, signing & posing for pictures. I personally have been the grateful recipient of time with Lu after shows and can attest to her & Tom’s recognition of and thankfulness for her fans. I treasure those times, along with the gig posters that I collect that Lu has signed.
But, bear in mind, Lu is only human and therefore is not always “up to” running a literal gauntlet of fans after a show, signing items & posing for photos. This is only understandable – after shows where I have stood all night, I am often physically wiped out, and all I did was stand there (& clap & cheer, of course!). Lu & the band not only stood the whole time, but performed under hot lights – hard work, indeed. Personally, I find it amazing that she meets & greets fans as often as she does after shows. But, there are no guarantees in life and, as long as you respectfully “hang out” after shows, I think you will sooner rather than later be rewarded. Just keep an open mind, expect nothing, and be thankful for all you do get to experience.

Sometimes the turnaround to the next show is too short and she has to run and can’t stay and sometimes she is just exhausted. Hopefully her fans understand that. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet if you do get the chance.
July 22, 2009 at 2:03 am #40247folkblues23ParticipantYeah, I can understand that. But, if she is in form, where do I “hang out” after the show? By the tour bus? Thanks for all the replies
July 31, 2009 at 5:15 pm #40240IDKParticipanthi all-on meeting lucinda, i have met her about 2 or 3 times after shows in th NY area. She is truly a sweet gracious lady-and she is on the shy side. I was thrilled because I had been to only one show before meeting her for the first time! anyway for all you fans, enjoy her shows, they are the best! 😀

I met her at the Manchester, UK gig. Waited outside near tour bus. Bear in mind this was over an hour after. It was worth it though as she was in good mood and in no great rush to get on. Just do it.

One time I waited after a Hot Tuna show and Jorma and Jack went straight to the tour bus, but I still got my ticket signed.

Good luck.
August 13, 2009 at 8:28 pm #40239StickParticipantI met her at Merlefest around 2001. They said she would sign autographs and such after her set. So i left my seat a little early and got in line early and got picts and everything. she was very nice. Got a poster signed of her at the festival.
