Well, I have an alternative view of Toby Keith’s lyrics in “it’s the American Way”. It has always rubbed me the wrong way because it is presenting something as American which is actually quite un-American. I sent him the following material about a month ago in hopes he would see the light regarding this. Yes, it was probably a long shot that his reason could be appealed to, but I think it was best to bring it to his attention first. I am now submitting the same material to one of the most prolific and original songwriters I can think of in hopes that something closer to the truth may be written as a more analytical response.

    Mr. Toby Keith,
I am hoping to convince you that “Putting a boot in your ass” is not the American way—quite to the contrary it is the way of a common enemy of mankind. This enemy was well represented in the ranks of the Tories that we revolted against, they love slavery and were certainly in the ante-bellum slave South and they probably instigated what happened in both Japan and Germany in the 1930s.
Not long ago, and still continuing today, but in a place far, far away exists a slave civilization that is the home of this enemy. There is no OSHA there. Since workers there have no rights there is much greater leeway for the work supervisors (slave overseers) to take measures into their own hands (or feet) to increase production. If you ask what a supervisor with no conscience could do to cause those supervised to work harder and faster, the obvious answer is pain or the threat of pain. The more pain, the more response. The problem with pain, though, is that it normally accompanies bodily injury and such injury would normally cut across the ability of the body to function. Ideally a slave master would want to inflict a high degree of pain but not cut across the ability to be productive. How to do this? For inflicting pain it is hard to beat breaking a bone, then applying a force to the broken bone. I’ve experienced this myself, and I can tell you I would be surprised if there were a person found who would not scream in that situation. If you look at a skeleton you will see only one bone of the body that allows the body full functionality to work if it is broken—that is the tailbone. Its only function is to provide support when sitting. It does not impair any other functionality in the slightest way. With a broken tailbone you can run, you can jump, you can lift, you can use your hands, but—if you have ever had the experience of having a broken tailbone hit or kicked (or just drop down into a chair on top of it before you realize it is broken) you would scream in pain, and you would probably do a lot to avoid having that experience repeated. You would probably be willing to do a lot in the workplace that OSHA would object to in order to avoid a repetition of that experience.
Well, that slave civilization is still going on and periodically “drops off” some of its unwanted former citizens who carry with them usually many, many lifetimes worth of the “butt-kicking” work experience. These souls will commonly associate increased group causation or increased production with “butt kicking”. They also commonly associate it with establishing a ranking order among individuals, since this slave civilization is very heavily based on a non-volitional hierarchical ranking system of the individuals of the population, and of course every “butt-kicking” incident is establishing the idea of “I’m the boss—you the slave” in the mind of the kickee.
The enemy that I referred to earlier are not these souls who are dropped off (although they can become enemies of mankind), but the local agents of the remote civilization who, I suppose, are posted to what they would consider a “personnel dump” , but we consider our home—Earth. This might be something like an FBI agent being posted to Alaska. It is probably not a plum posting.
Not everyone on Earth is from this slave civilization. I estimate that between 30-40% of males are in this category, but I could be off a little. Unfortunately those of this minority are a liability to be influenced by the local representatives of their former slave masters on a non-volitional basis to some degree from time to time if they are not careful to live ethically and maintain analytical, volitional control of their minds and actions.
Here is an alternative “American Way”. Freedom is the ability and opportunity to use the mind to come up with the right answer and put that answer into effect. If you are not free to think and act for yourself then what is the point of freedom? People who only want to follow the herd do not need freedom. Someone seeing the film of the Twin Towers and reading subsequent newspaper articles should have wondered:
    1) If the second tower was hit 10 minutes later, and the plane did not hit it head on as it had the first tower so that much of the fuel spilled outside the building, and it was constructed identically to the first building, then why did it fall first?
    2) Why was molten metal reported in many newspapers as found to be present in the wreckage of the Towers as it was being cleaned up, WEEKS after Sept. 11th?
    3) If the Twin Towers came down from the two planes alone, then it was due to the heat of jet fuel, which burns at less that 2000F. Steel will not melt at that temperature. So it would never have become molten, AND IT WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED MOLTEN METAL TO BE FOUND WEEKS LATER IN THE WRECKAGE.
    4) What DOES melt steel is Thermite. It is used in demolitions of buildings. Imagine something that can go from ambient temperature to OVER 12,000F IN A SPLIT SECOND! That is what thermite does. It goes to something between 7000C and 8000C in a SPLIT SECOND! That is what melts the support columns in building that are being demolished. They apply it to the side of the steel column and angle it downward and inward. Then when it flashes off the column instantly becomes two solid pieces that slide against each other – downward and inward.

Anyway, maybe you will want to use your freedom to read some of the newspaper articles of the time to verify that they mentioned molten metal being found weeks later. They never mentioned Thermite—though I am sure the reporters knew about it. They had the courage to slip the information by their editors (or whoever the censors were) in a form that would not be recognized.

In conclusion, you did damage by equating America with an action “put a boot in your ass” which has nothing to do with America, but is most likely just your own experiences from being a former resident of a slave civilization “boiling to the surface” of your mind. Please remember that the majority of American citizens were never residents of this slave civilization and do not appreciate this kind of comparison.

America actually is currently under attack today by these local agents of the slave civilization. It is mostly a struggle between analytical thought and non-analytical thought, though there are also more physical or forceful attacks from time to time. I ask that you retract this statement of the “American Way”. If I do not hear a public retraction or some kind response from you within a month then I will forward this material to the Texas Bluebell sisters, or whatever their name is, that seemed to have a disagreement with you. Maybe they can use it as an inspiration to some song-writing. There is tons of evidence to support what I have written here. I am sure you can come up with your own examples. The basic idea is that when you have a ton of puzzle pieces and the all snap together in one way and they don’t snap together in any other way then that way is the right answer. You can then tell something , though not everything, about contiguous pieces that are still missing.

Finally, I am not a fan of what you call these days “Country Music”. I call it “Pop with a Twang and a Hat”. I have never been too fond of pop music, though some of it is quite good, but at least Pop musicians have the integrity to call themselves what they are and not pretend to be something else. I consider Country Music to be what was portrayed in “O Brother, Where art Thou”.

Sounds like the story was not well received. Did you keep in mind that truth is stranger than fiction? What made you decide it was crazy? It is different, for sure. If the mainstream started going in this direction would you change your mind? If you go running do you prefer to run on grass or dirt or on a concrete sidewalk?

I prefer discussing the music of Lucinda Williams in here.

tonyg, you don’t have to believe man. It’s your own mind. You decide what you want to put in it. I’m not selling anything. It’s really not about belief any way. It’s about data alignment. Just ask yourself if all the data aligns with all the other data. If so, see if you can come up with another set of data that is completely aligned and covers the same data. Don’t drink too many Solo Cups before you try this. You probably want to apply your full analytical abilities.
Did you never read about the molten metal found in the wreckage as they were clearing it weeks later? What other explanation is there for it?
