Lu was happy and seemed ready to fly to LA then to Boston within 36 hours or so of this gig. Ray Wylie Hubbard got a shout-out as a 70’s “influence” on her. Rain moved his set to a small tent, almost ruined Lu’s own, and sent Lilly Hiatt packing for good shortly into her set.
Who’s at the Playboy Club? Who’s up for some LSD? Ah, the road again. . .
I was just double checking the tour schedule before sauntering to this thread, thinking the next couple of days will be brutal for Lu flying back and forth from coast to coast.
Side note on Lilly Hiatt. I’ve yet to see her do a live show. I do know, though, her cousin, a fellow Mellenhead, thinks she’s the Bo Diggity. I’ll have to squeeze her in at some point.
Great reports. I just got home from the Bay Area where I was traveling with a renegade rock n roll band so I did not make it to the Hollywood Bowl. Have fun out there.
