This is an Irish traditional folk song originally from the 1700’s
It’s on the 2006 compilation called ” Rogues Gallery”
I had never heard this one. Just a beautiful song and someone shot a black and white video with Lu singing it following a major snow storm in small town New England.Enjoy the music.

Thanks for reminding me of that one, LWJ. It is a beautiful song, and one of the few of Lu’s guest appearances or covers I did not yet own. Last time I searched for it, I discovered the CD was OOP & a bit pricey, and I wasn’t all that interested in most of the other tracks on the album. Furthermore, at the time, I could not find a decent-quality MP3 for download.
However, I just checked Amazon.com, and it can now be downloaded for only 99ยข…

Yes, Amazon Prime was to what I was referring. I purchase a lot from Amazon, and this more than pays for itself in my case.

To turn “regular text” into an underlined link in blue, you use the “url” tags. They are very similar in use to the “quote” tags you see when you quote someone else’s post in a reply. Like the “quote” tags, they are enclosed in square brackets, but for the following example, I will use curly braces instead so you can see the tags in use:
{url=http://www.google.com}Here is a link to Google{/url}.
This shows up as follows when the square brackets are used, activating the tags:

Did a little Google on the town of Harwich, Mass where this video was taken.
Found out it comprises several small towns in Cape Cod where I have visited two or three times. It was incorporated in 1674 before “Bonnie Portmore” was composed and has been called the “Birthplace of the Cranberry industry” ummmm
Re. the black and white-thought it most appropriate for the winter scene and the vintage of the song.
I still have an old ( non-digital ) SLR that I keep loaded with black and white film.
Finally, I must have played Lu’s cover of this at least seven or eight times.It’s that good.lwj
