Looks like a new song with Elvis Costello called “Kiss Like Your Kiss” is being released on True Blood Vol II Soundtrack.
Can’t wait to hear this!!
May 15, 2010 at 1:48 am #43078punchdrunkloveParticipantgreat! speaking of costello/lucinda, there’s a great collection of songs from cmt crossroads (a program, i think) out there on the internet. blue, drunken angel, wild horses, crescent city, change the locks and a few more. it’s a must.
i watched the TRUE BLOOD pilot a few days ago and was disappointed with how they used lake charles to minimum effect. the song was fully played (and a little extended as far as i remember, there was a repetition of the “did an angel…” chorus at the very end), but since it was played at a bar quite far from the actual scene little could be heard. i’ve seen somes episodes ever since and i don’t like much of it.
now moving towards a much better take on louisiana, i really hope to listen to some lucinda on a TREME episode. can’t imagine a more appropriate place on tv for her songs. and, well, we got 2 kool 2 be 4-gotten on a WIRE episode, the last tv show from the TREME creator.

May 25, 2010 at 5:34 pm #43080Drunken AngelParticipantListen to Kiss Like Your Kiss here.
I love it. Can’t wait for Lu’s solo version.
May 31, 2010 at 2:36 am #43081RichNotRichParticipantSpeaking of “Lake Charles,” I could never figure out who is doing the back up vocals on the chorus. Almost sounds like one of the Indigo Girls. Anybody know?

June 1, 2010 at 1:02 am #43083RichNotRichParticipantOoops! Boys, I meant Indigo Boys!
June 1, 2010 at 3:48 am #43084tntracyParticipantAnd here’s a pic TomO took of Lu during the recording of “Kiss Like Your Kiss”. He just sent it to me along with the pics of Lu’s home studio…
August 11, 2010 at 8:23 pm #43085punchdrunkloveParticipanta friend just told me KLYK could be heard in one scene from episode 8, shown this previous sunday. it was during a talk two characters had after sex (which partly fulfills lucinda’s wish for a “hot, steamy, lustful scene”).
August 11, 2010 at 8:27 pm #43086tntracyParticipantMeh. I didn’t watch it. I don’t “get” all the vampire stuff out there now…
Like the song, though!

August 11, 2010 at 8:42 pm #43087punchdrunkloveParticipanti watched the first episodes from season 1 and didn’t like much of it (except lake charles, in the pilot episode, but it could barely be heard!), i’ll make an exception for this one.
when i told my friend that lucinda wished that her song was played during a “torrid sex scene” between sookie and bill (two main characters), she said that there was indeed a torrid sex scene between the two (which she also described as vicious), but KLYK was put to better use to enhance the intimacy of a bittersweet talk after sex. her words, i’m just translating. in fact before posting i asked her if “sickening” would be appropriate to describe the sex scene, and she said “no, no”, then she came up with “vicious”. so there you go.
August 11, 2010 at 9:12 pm #43088parkercaParticipantI’m totally addicted to True Blood. My wife and I started watching season 1 last Fall. Now season 2-3 and I’m reading the books.
I’m just glad it isn’t Twilight.August 12, 2010 at 5:04 am #43089punchdrunkloveParticipantjust saw flashes of the episode. it goes like this:
big scream, hospital, credits, half-dressed people doing nothing in particular, woman showering, two women sunbathing, someone gets bitten, woman pointing a knife, fight, people having sex, naked people talking, lucinda williams, vampires fighting, woman pointing a gun, people having sex, fight, death, people having (vicious) sex, end credits.
not that i have anything against this sort of stuff, but i’m up for lucinda’s next contribution to the soundtrack – and only for it.
buffy was a wonderful show with vampires and all those things (kinda), btw.
August 12, 2010 at 2:49 pm #43090parkercaParticipantWhat more do you need in a TV show? Lol
