We are getting closer to finishing the deal for the reissue of the LW cd. We are going to try to have it out by the end of Oct. Right now it is planned to be a 3 disc set:
DISC 1–Remixed and remastered version of the original album from the original masters which were missing until about a year ago. The improved sound quality is a major improvement.
DISC 2–A recently discovered 1989 live recording from LW tour. Recorded for a radio show in the Netherlands, the sound and performance are terrific. Will also include the 6 bonus tracks for the 92 reissue.
DISC 3–A dvd of the LA El Rey performance from the 2007 album shows. Full five camera shoot and 5.1 sound. Edited by the guy who does most of the videos for the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame.Of course everything could change but i am reasonably confident that we will get it out in Oct/Nov.

It will be super great to have another well-recorded and mastered record of LWs along with sounds of Gurf Morlix on lead (any thoughts of having the Grammy winning Bob Ludwig of Portland’s very own Gateway Mastering do the final polish of this set?). With minimal hesitation, one could point to the idea that Lucinda’s 1989 tour was a terrific time in her career and sound, all things held equal. Great to have this record as a part of the collection and what fun it will be on its first listen… Also, what are the chances of revisiting her October 13, 1989 performance on ACL? Any copies kicking around of that bad boy? Not a bad set, huh?

Thanks,
Tom

August 24, 2009 at 7:00 pm #40161TOverbyParticipantTo Answer TT and WO’B’s questions–
TT–I don’t know the answer to your question but will discuss it with Mr.Liljestrand.WO’B–Yes the plan is to release it worldwide and hopefully simultaneously -but the international part is a separate deal so it may delay the intl release by a couple of weeks — am going to do everything i can to prevent that.
August 24, 2009 at 9:57 pm #40162TOverbyParticipantBelow is the track listing for the potential 2nd disc of LW reissue. Also, I have just been listening to the nearly final clean up of LW from the original master tapes (which the Koch reissue didn’t use because they were missing at that time) and it is sounding beautiful. Mr. Liljestrand has done his usual stellar job. It will all be mastered by the Grammy winning Gavin Lurssen who did such a fantastic job on West and Little Honey.
