March 13, 2011 at 8:04 pm #45126RiveredParticipantAnyone familiar with the parking garage near the theater? Cost?
Recommended restaurants?
Thank you.
March 14, 2011 at 12:11 pm #45127jackstrawParticipantthere’s no parking garages in red bank per se, parking in red bank can be brutal. the best
place to park is at the train station, located right on monmouth ave about 4 blocks west of the
theater. no charge and there’s alway plenty of spaces. and across monmouth from the station is
my pre count basie stop for the past 20 years, walt street pub.typical bar fare but there are a
ton of places to eat within walking distance of the theater.March 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm #45128paul_from_losangelesParticipantI will have never visited Red Bank until tonight, but
http://www.thedublinhouse.net
looks interesting, and is very close to the Count Basie venue.
Note: the website loads playing Irish music; you might lower your volume control before viewing.March 14, 2011 at 6:14 pm #45129jackstrawParticipantthe dublin house is a great joint, 2nd to last stop before walt st pub and finally
the train station on red bank pub crawls. gets kinda crowded pre-show but worth
the trip.March 15, 2011 at 1:17 am #45130tntracyParticipantHere is a link to a “preview” article from NJ.com about tonight’s Count Basie Theatre show…

March 15, 2011 at 6:55 am #45131Hot_BloodedParticipantShow was awesome. She played “2 Kool 2 Be 4-Gotten.” No Springsteen. Killer sound. Butch was on fire. 😀
March 15, 2011 at 11:47 am #45132wtwn81ParticipantReally enjoyed last night’s show and appreciated the great sound quality. Thanks so much for coming to Red Bank NJ !
March 15, 2011 at 12:38 pm #45133hoffmanjParticipantGreat show. Mostly rockers with the exception of the new stuff – I believe there were 6 songs from Blessed and they were very well received. Val did a super job. Unsuffer Me was the only song that seemed to almost go off the rails – it sounded like everyone was playing in different time, There will always be other songs you want to hear but I was happy to hear everything played. I thought For What It’s Worth was a timely closer and the crowd was really into it. Like others have said, the sound was great, and that’s not always the case at the Count Basie.
March 15, 2011 at 1:23 pm #45134paul_from_losangelesParticipantA stunning show in a beautiful venue. A great pleasure to relax in a comfortable seat with a glass of wine (actually 2, I spilled half of the 1st glass), instead of struggling with the crowds at Webster Hall.
No sightings of Bruce!
