Lucinda plays at 7pm tomorrow and it will be just her and Mr. Pettibone.
October 22, 2010 at 9:47 pm #44342tonygKeymasterThx for the info Tom. Say “hi” to Neil for us.
October 23, 2010 at 3:46 am #44343LafayetteParticipantWhere’s the like button for this post?
Looking forward to your report Tony G
October 23, 2010 at 7:17 am #44344tonygKeymasterExcept I’m not going. Sorry if I indicated otherwise. I think our best chance for a report will be from West Words.

I know Doug will be with her, LWjetta. I don’t know about the others.
Anyone going had better be prepared to get wet and stay wet. The forecast is for rain all weekend.
Hey tonyg, just wondering how you found out Doug P. is on the show.
Should be great.
lwjOctober 23, 2010 at 3:35 pm #44346tonygKeymasterHe posted it on his Facebook page. Agree it should be awesome.

Thanks tonyg. I keep forgetting about Facebook, although I regularly check Lu’s.
Anyway as a preamble to the Bridge Benefit, here is Doug jamming with Robi Draco Rosa in Cali, Columbia last week.
Boy, this guy gets around the world.

lwjOctober 23, 2010 at 4:51 pm #44348tonygKeymasterGreat find. Doug is a true road warrior. He played with Draco Rosa in April or May, I forget when, down in S.A. I told Doug I saw a video of one of the shows and pointed out that it looked pretty wild, with the crowd really amped up. He told me that, after the show, there was a riot and lots of equipment got destroyed (not his though). Crazy stuff.
October 24, 2010 at 1:16 pm #44349LWjettaParticipantA concert review just posted from last night.

“The Scarlet Tide” with Elvis, Lucinda , Emmylou and Kris KristoffersonOctober 24, 2010 at 5:04 pm #44352LWjettaParticipantFrom Rolling Stone, another review.

tntracy should have been there to place his cell phone on the lyrics sheets as he so aptly did in Fayetteville 😆
Here is an excerpt.
Lucinda Williams came out next, accompanied only by her guitarist, Doug Pettibone. Emmylou Harris surprised the crowd when she came out to accompany Williams on “Greenville,” as Harris did on the 1998 original. Williams followed this up with “Born to Be Loved,” which she said would be on her next album, planned for January. Midway through this gentle love song, a gust of wind blew her lyric sheets off their stand, but she recovered nicely by telling Pettibone to improvise while an aide collected the scattered papers. Williams ended with a rollicking “Joy” from Car Wheels On a Gravel Road.

As I understand it, “west words” was attending the Sunday proceedings, but not Saturday/Lu? Is this possible?
Well, one man’s “mediocre outing” is no doubt another’s six-song bonanza after too long a layoff: Sorry I wasn’t there. Any bets on the name of the “aide” who rescued rolling and tumbling pages and affixed them back inside the Lyric Book? One imagines John/Flappy of yore, but I suspect it might have come from a more upper managerial level this gig.
Finally, I recommend “. . . keep forgetting about Facebook” as a general life policy, lwjetta!

Yup stoger, friends have tried me to get in on the Facebook scene. It’s not for me.
I go for intelligent conversation on music and car forums. don’t care what somebody had for lunch, dinner etc.
Upper management level-love it.
Keep on Rockin’ Lu.
