I just returned from seeing Lu at the Crest Theater in Sacramento. The show was awesome and of the 5 shows I have seen Lucinda, the vocals were the best tonight. She was in a good mood and played 6 to 7 songs off of her new album which were all great. One of the coolest and funniest songs is a duet she did with Doug – on the album she sings the song with Elvis Costello. On one of the encore songs she did stop playing and seemed to be pretty upset but came right back and rocked the place out with Honey Bee! Buick 6 opened the show mainly doing instrumentals that really showed just how good the entire band is. On their last song they sang Neil Young’s Cinnamon Girl and really rocked the place. Lu played quite a long time and her set of songs were much different then some of the sets people have been posting lately. She is definitely one of a kind and I love her for that. I hope to see her for the 6th time at the Filmore in November. The new album comes out Oct 11, can’t wait! 😀
