❗ FORUM PHOTO OF THE YEAR ❗

Second, Second, Lefty: it’s no contest. I am only mildly jealous re: my absence. Thanks, grumpy, for bringing the non Facebookers up to speed on such compelling visuals.

Good job posting, grumpymama! Yes, I’m envious of all the opportunities our West Coast FF members have with Lu, however, it’s great to live vicariously through them. πŸ˜€

I had meant to post this the next day but obviously that didn’t happen but here is the playlist. She actually put a lot of work into this and had a hard time whittling it down. I think she now wants to be a DJ when she grows up:

Jonathan Wilson–Can We Really Party Today?
Father John Misty –Funtimes In Babylon
    Joe Henry–Tomorrow Is October
    Tricky-Joesph
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion–Bag & Bones
    Yo La Tengo–Is That Enough
Clarence Carter–I Stayed Away Too Long
    Mark Lanegan–Gravedigger’s Song
    Kenneth Brian Band–Welcome To Alabama
    Dusty Springfield–Breakfast In Bed
    Eilen Jewell–Over Again
Gotan Project (meets Chet Baker) –‘Round About Midnight
    RL Burnside–Come On In
    Atmosphere–The Rooster
    Chelsea Morning Light–Groovy & Linda
    Cold War Kids–Fear And Trembling
    John Fulbright–Gawd Above
Magnolia Electric Co.–Farewell Transmission (in remembrance of Jason Molina)

Man, that’s some good stuff. I just bought the Fulbright and like “jericho” best, though “Gawd Above” is a keeper. Imagine Lu being attracted to a record with the first four songs all containing theological/Biblical tags in their titles: shocking shocking. As for one of the two Hello Cleveland Mgt. clients here, the background voice you hear on the chorus of “Over Again” is that of Zoe Muth. Think I’ll listen. . .

TomO wrote from the set list Lu picked: John Fullbright-Gawd Above.

Here is a quote about John’s appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN June 13-16, 2013.

I just got the chance to see 23-year old Oklahoman songwriter/multi-instrumentalist John Fullbright for the first time at an intimate show in Los Angeles. Lucinda Williams was in the audience and in a chance encounter with the living legend she affirmed that this youngun is one of the best young acts she’s seen in many years. When Lucinda voices an opinion on such a topic, probably best to heed the advice.

Here’s the full article together with a video of John if you scroll down the article.

And for those able to attend-the full Bonnaroo Festival including Wilco, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and many, many others.
