I was looking on Amazon and noticed that on August 18th “Ramblin on My Mind” and “Happy Woman Blues” are going to be reissued on LP. This is very cool, since these two titles are extremely hard to find on LP.
No more details, Parker, but thanks for this wonderful revelation. I assume it’s a label other than Smithsonian Folkways, right? I’ve combed many a musty vinyl bin, never found anything before the ’88 Rough Trade release. Speaking of that, I think early ’10 will bring us a reissue with bonus features there, since Lucinda owns the masters. We’ll see.
Hope you got that Wilco shirt laundered and ready for further use at the STeve Earle show. . .
I believe the question was asked elsewhere in here but the Folkways reissues were indeed done without any input from Lucinda or myself. In fact I found about it here while we were in Europe. Not real happy about that and my fingers are crossed that the quality is up to Lucinda’s standards.
The problem is that Lucinda got a bit hoodwinked on these records back when the deal was done and she signed away most of the rights, so I’m not even sure that we can do anything about it-but it will be looked into.
