ParticipantWe have confirmed two show in London on November 9th and 10th as part of the London Jazz Festival. The plan right now is for the shows to be two separate shows. What that means specifically I can’t really say for sure yet, as we’re still discussing ideas.
Because of the nature of this festival these shows had to be confirmed early, so I don’t know yet if and when there will be additional shows. That is something that we will be discussing in the upcoming weeks but either way this at least gets us to Europe in Nov. More details as I have them.February 26, 2012 at 12:52 pm #49425bigsubi

ParticipantGreat news Tom, and thanks for the early notice, will start work right away on my birthday present…
Would prefer not to make the long trek to London, but hey it is Lucinda….One further piece of early info would be helpful, do you know the venue, and will it be the same venue both nights, just to give us an idea of which part of London to book.
As always Tom apprecite the work you put in here to keep us up to speed.

ParticipantI should have a 2 week old newborn in hand on those dates, so there’s no chance of me flying over to see her perform. Would love to see Lucinda in Dublin though! Thanks for keeping us up to date.

ParticipantWhoops! Sorry, dr winston oboogie. This wishful thinking on my part, I didn’t mean to sound like there is a planned show here. I truly hope that Lucinda will consider putting on a show in Dublin this year, since she’s going to be so close. I’ve wanted to see Lucinda perform live since I’ve known of her.

“Guttersnipe will transfix you into that special kind of lump-in-the-throat, moist-eyed stupor of utter gratitude that this song, and this singer, even exists. It’s that good.”

“Wry and subversive, the writing and performances here are first-rate, folk-based and undeniably unique.” The Washington Post

ParticipantI’m flying over from Dublin for both of these. While part of me wishes there were more shows, in Ireland, Britain and mainland Europe, I know I’d want to go to more shows if there were, which I can’t afford right now, so this makes it easier 🙂

ParticipantYou’re not alone Dr O’Boogie & Mr Koyote, I’ve been having similar thoughts as you both in the last few days. It’s been a very long 3 years for some of us since Lucinda’s last European shows. I’ve resisted any wallet-emptying temptations to go over to the USA for some shows, I really would loved to have seen the recent 4 night stint in NYC.
I’m (obviously!) going to both nights and really hoping that we’ll get to hear some of the great new(!!!) songs off Blessed along with the countless classics.
As to the fact that the shows aren’t yet sold out, I don’t know about Ireland but I really think Lucinda is underrated over here in the UK and I just don’t understand why. To me her songwriting at times is at least the equal of all the great “Americana” songwriters of the last 90 years and her live performances are even better.
I seem to have been playing a lot of live recordings of Lucinda in the last few weeks…
