Here is what is happening. As was mentioned at the top of this topic, it was decided, with an eye to the future, to take the extra time now and create the infrastructure for a permanent cd store for the LW webite. As i’m sure anybody in IT knows, things can sometimes get more complicated than anticipated. The gory details are that we are currently in the process of getting the “back end” of the new store to speak with the back end (insert joke here) of the fulfillment company’s system so everything will be automated and each days orders will process every night. The fun stuff.
In addition the cd’s that were already made (and the duplicators) were shipped with the band equipment after the last NY show and expected to arrive ealier this week. They are now arriving tomorrow (Fri.). The reason for the 10-14 day process time was to allow for these types of complications.
So anyway, what this all means is that I am told I will have the cd’s tomorrow and am going to bypass the fulfillment company for the initial orders and do them myself.
It may be a long night tomorrow night, and I have already begun some of the steps, but I hope to have all of the orders in the mail Sat., which is Day 13. Worst case scenario is Mon., but every effort will be made to have every order out Sat., because promises must be kept. In the very near future all orders will process daily.
I appreciate everyone’s patience.thanks for the personal attention to this, Inside Job. You should have a little sticker or stamp for each shipment that says “Packed With Care by Inside Job!” … Hey, maybe Lucinda wants to pitch in tonight — she could sign the disks she packs up!
should have picked up the NY cds at the last NYC show, but the line was long…. and I needed to re-live the show over a beer. I know my shortsightedness will be worth the wait.
We tend to think every business is set up like Amazon.com these days, but in a way it’s nice to know that (for this weekend, anyway) these Lucinda cds are being handled the same way as some upstart garage band. A guy stuffing boxes in a basement or someplace (and you’re the guy!). Seriously, we all really appreciate your hard work — and forthrightness. Thank you. 🙂
I just ordered both the NY and LA complete sets. Friggin can’t wait to get em!!!!!! Also ordered and received Doug Pettibone’s CD which is absolutely killin. I loves you people.
Inside Job, your hard work is much appreciated. Thanks for all you have done in order to get these live discs to Lu’s fans. You have no idea (or maybe you do) of how much this means.
I got an email from paypal earlier today saying my order was getting ready to be shipped. So it shouldn’t be too much longer.
