Posted on September 9, 2011 by Dave Paulson

Lucinda Williams, Gregg Allman, Jerry Douglas, Rick Hall and Bob Harris are this year’s recipients of the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Awards, to be presented at the Association’s Honors and Awards show next month at the Ryman Auditorium.

The five honorees are being recognized for their accomplishments in individual fields. Williams, who is also to perform at the show, is being saluted as a songwriter; Dobro master Douglas for his instrumental prowess; southern rock great Allman as a performer. Producer and Muscle Shoals sound architect Hall has been tapped to receive the Association’s Jack Emerson award, while radio host and journalist Harris will be presented with their Trail Blazer award.

Among the stars confirmed to attend the ceremony at the Ryman Auditorium on October 13 are Allman, Jim Lauderdale, Robert Plant and Band of Joy, Hayes Carll, The Civil Wars, Elizabeth Cook, Justin Townes Earle, Jessica Lea Mayfield, and The Secret Sisters. Tickets for the show are $35-$65 and on sale now at Ticketmaster, the Ryman box office or by calling (615) 889-3060.
