the show started a little after 8:15. a slight, frail-looking Levon taking the stage last (drum kit on the extreme right of stage) w/ the crowd going berserk. They started off w/ Levon singing Ophelia. The 7-piece horn section shone here and all thru the show. Next the band covered a Muddy Waters song The Same Thing (written by Willie Dixon i think). This was about it for Levon’s voice for the eveinig, as i dont think he sang much more as lead singer, but was drumming strong through the night.
Next was a nice cover of Simple Twist of Fate, done in a sort of funky New Orleans style. The lead singer on the first Dylan tune of the evening was the keyboard player who seemed to be doing a Dr. John imitation. The crowd really enjoyed it. Larry Campbell played well, of course, and was more or less the band leader. Larry’s wife Theresa, is a pretty good singer and was impressive as she sang lead on Long the Black Veil. Levon’s daughter Amy sang lead on several songs and was very good. Larry actually did sing lead on a few songs, and rather well. First was Deep Ellum Blues, then Crazy ’bout my Baby. The other guitar player was excellent. He and Larry were cutting each others heads on a few songs, Larry on a big beautiful Gibson sunburst, (when he wasn’t on mandolin or fiddle) and the other guy (sorry, i forgot his name) playing Telecaster, doing all the slide guitar duty and bending strings like a champ. The band did a great job on Shape I’m In and lead singers shared beautifully the lyrics to the Weight. Larry really tore it up on his 6 string during the intro to Chest Fever and sang lead on that song at the end of the main set. I Shall Be Released was the encore. They played for about 2 hours. Seemed like everbody had a great time.June 20, 2009 at 11:23 pm #39888LeftyParticipantLarry Campbell is terrific (duh). Glad he and Levon got together. It’s been good for them both.

i found these pictures of the recent show in MN at Levon’s website.
Larry’s wife and Levon’s daughter were singing up a storm. Levon played the mandolin on a few songs, too.
