Hello,
I am new to this forum but big fan of Lucinda. I would like to take two of my grandsons to the show in Lawrence. Could anyone tell me if this would be any kind of problem. They are 7 and 9 years old. I really want to share this show with them as they are both big music fans and have been dancin to “Buttercup” when I have it blastin. When I was painting my house last spring I had “Car wheels on a gravel road” cd playin quite a bit and they were jammin to that too so I am excited for us to see her and the band live.
Thank you for any input.October 28, 2011 at 5:06 pm #48820tonygKeymasterYou should call the venue first and find out if they allow under 21 year old guests.
Some of Lu’s lyrics can be a tad colorful. Ask yourself if you want the kids to hear some interesting words. If it’s Ok with you, do it!

Mostly outside venues where they can dance and I can make sure its easy to move them if the area ever turned “rowdy”. And I take turns during the encores taking them closer to the stage.
My daughter had the pleasure of meeting Lucinda and Tom at the an outdoor festival in Houston this year.
We all attended about five Lu concerts on that trip alone.I don’t think content of the lyrics, which most times take an adult mind to decipher, is as big an issue as content of the immediate surroundings.
Most would advise against it, but in the right venues, it works very nicely for all of us!!

October 30, 2011 at 3:23 am #48827punchdrunkloveParticipantthere’s only one thing you should worry about kids/concerts: hearing. earplugs all the way, please.
thank god we’re old & we’re dying soon, so we should go for the noise.

I use to be very intimidated by the Professor when writing emails to him. I feel your pain, tonyg.
October 30, 2011 at 3:42 pm #48829ErichBParticipantThank you for all the input. Being 52 is starting to be a real eye opener in so many ways. I guess I have taken a long time to really look around and see what is going on. I will stick to music in this subject so I won’t bore you all. I went to hundreds of concerts as a young man and quite a few as an older man. I have shared the music I love with my children and my grandchildren. I have a brother who is in a couple of bands and does studio work with members of Blame Sally and Alexis Harte. That has inspired a few of my grandsons to want to play. I have tried to expose them to all kinds of music since I have quite a collection. The way everything is micro titled is getting ridiculas so I will not attempt to try and name what all we listen to. I now want them to experience the joy of live shows. They are the oldest of our 8 grandkids and show the most enthusiasm in wanting to go. I am not too worried about colorful language. I have been known to use some myself. Sometimes they are the only words that really fit to express what I am trying to say. I think they will love Lucinda’s music as much as I do. They sure seem to enjoy it here at home. I want to watch there faces as she belts out a real rocker or a mournful tearjerker. I love to see the wonder and happiness in thier faces and who better to see for that first experience.
