Golly gee guys, I hope these stories are all above board. Tony, was it Portsmouth, NH, or did we meet before in CA? I guess I should remember. Vivian, don’t give away all my trade secrets. It’s great to keep meeting new fans individually (most recently one each in Boston, Chicago, and Minneapolis), but you guys and a few others are the core. I’m now close to tears.

Mr. Stoger, through a veil of tears, and the occasional sob, I seem to recall meeting you somehwere, perhaps the Hard Rock Cafe in Anaheim (?), Although I had seen you in Northampton MA lurking outside the Calvin Theater as Tim and I sped away into the night about a year earlier but we did not meet. 8)

Edit: I do not remember the hand twirl.

What a fine memory. And I deny any hand-twirling until someone describes the gesture more fully and convinces me of my mannerisms.

Great story! We all have our own fond memories of when we first encountered Mr. Stoger. 8)

First (and only? 😕 ) time was in the People’s Republic of Ithaca. We enjoyed dinner at a restaurant that surely must be shuttered by now and then took in a book reading before the show — very high-brow! May our paths cross again, Professor! 😀

I believe I met stoger first at the Fillmore SF in 2011, intro via West Words. I’d like to even say that it was so impactful that I now live in the Bay Area (but I really left my heart in Ventura). Many great meetups since then and it’s been way too long mr. stoger 🙁

I will be making every effort to get to this Mountain Winery show. Hopefully see you all there or I will be living up to my username 👿

Shucks guys our co-moderator is going to have to rename this thread if these paeans to the Stog continue. Most of your memories are better than mine, but I appreciate y’all.

Mr. Stoger, I was thinking of a dedicated thread where we can all talk about ourselves, especially you. 🙂

The infamous hand twirling resembles someone dialing an old fashioned wall phone, using several fingers.
(Best I Got) But.. when you see it, I can absolutely guarantee there is a real groove going’ on.

Met stoger first (I believe) in Redding California at The Cascade Theatre. Great venue, killer show.
Found out since we have been at many, many Lu shows prior to meeting and now many since.
    Good Times.

There are those Lyons, Co dates on High Road Touring’s Page Aug 19-21
Just announced on FB, Ocean City, NJ Aug 29 ( If any one has the presale code, sharing would be nice )
Anyone got any clues, ideas, information ?

OK, this is NOT on the topic of meeting stoger. Northampton Beach, NY seems to be on the Friday after this Ocean City gig, ie., Sept. 2. High Road says so. Are we leading up to some Labor Day hijinks in The Big Apple itself?

Encouraging to see Colorado fest in there, then east coast, then back on west coast. Something for fans of multiple regions–and for those whose travels transcend any one spot.
