Good show. A tad preachy. I was waiting for Pete Seeger to show up. Place was jammed. 2 Lu songs; World Without Tears and Bitter Memory. Bob Weir sat in for a ragged version of I Know You Rider. A solitary horse took in the entire proceedings from a trail right behind the stage.
I guess I should be a bigger Patty Griffin and Steve Earle fan than I am since they are celebrated members of the Americana thing.
October 9, 2017 at 12:50 am #74544tonygKeymasterCheap Trick is still a thing? Jesus. They live and Tom Petty dies? Get off the stage and let Lu play!
P.S. Is that wrong? Too much?
October 9, 2017 at 2:11 am #74546tonygKeymasterLu’s set:

October 9, 2017 at 4:28 am #74548Mike_DoranParticipantI often leave a Lu show believing believing it was the best I’d seen.. tonight’s show was no different.
Man they sounded great.. with an unbelievable audience that seemed to really fuel the band.
Tonight’s version of “We’ve Come Too Far to Turn Around” with the huge crowd achieved anthem status. The cover of Petty’s “Southern Accent” was fantastic and I believe the first I’ve ever hear Lu play.
The earlier set with Lu doing World Without Tears was particularly inspirational as well as Lu mentioned it’s relevancy in relation to gun control.
Saw some amazing music over the three day festival, none as amazing as Lu’s closing show tonight .
Ending this week with a couple hundred thousand festival goers all singing along to “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free Worldl was perfect.
October 9, 2017 at 2:40 pm #74549tonygKeymasterThanks for the great eye-witness reporting Mike!
October 9, 2017 at 9:35 pm #74550Mike_DoranParticipantWas right with you tony, on wanting Cheap Trick to wrap things up as Lu’s slot was upcoming.. 😉
Insult to injury, the archived Lucinda set plays at the end of theirs with no mention of it… worth watching,.(also no recording of final encore)

Unrelated note.. always have loved Lu in a hat.. this one says “boss”
October 9, 2017 at 11:21 pm #74551paul_from_losangelesParticipantThank you, Mike, for finding Lucinda’s set within the Cheap Trick archive. Lu starts at about 1 hour within the time slider.
Off topic question to our esteemed moderator:
tonyg, you seem to be able to modify your prior posts. Myself, as a mere mortal, I don’t see an edit button after I submit, log-out, login again, and then view the post. The older forum allowed me to edit a prior post. Is my assessment correct, or am I missing a hidden edit feature?October 9, 2017 at 11:29 pm #74553stogerParticipantWho played guitar? Pettibone? PUlkingham? Mathis?
October 9, 2017 at 11:31 pm #74554stogerParticipantSome folkified leftwing rhetoric from the stage, eh Tony? Not your bag?
October 10, 2017 at 12:15 am #74555tonygKeymasterFirst of all, you are correct in that I am able to edit my posts, which is good since my first post is usually 50% errors, and then it improves with each version. There should be a blue “EDIT” command in the upper right corner of your post. If there is not, I shall inquire about adding this feature. Everyone should be able to edit their own posts.
October 10, 2017 at 12:16 am #74556tonygKeymasterIn the Lu set is was the regular fellers including Stuart Mathis.
October 10, 2017 at 12:18 am #74557tonygKeymasterAll right. The Pete Seeger crack was uncalled for.
😥
October 12, 2017 at 4:14 am #74577LafayetteParticipantDammit. Missed it.
