The Lafayette, La. show at the Acadiana Center for the Arts is now SOLD OUT!! We all look forward to Lu’s visit to her old stomping grounds.

Lu mentioned that she wanted to sing all the songs that referenced Lafayette and the surrounding areas. CC Adcock opened the show with Cedric Watson and later joined the band for the last two songs. Lu seemed to really enjoy the crowd and being back in Louisiana.

May 4, 2011 at 3:31 pm #46783LafayetteParticipantMama, You Sweet….love it!

[tour debut/Blake debut] Despite that one and the Hank left off, much to love with the Fats Domino cover et. al.–semi- “heavy” on Car Wheels, yes, but not overwhelmingly, six I think. Thanks for the report, SS. I can’t speak for West Words, but I’m experiencing mild regret (albeit ensconced here in the Crescent City at moment) at skipping the Lafayette gig. My day will come again soon.

I Lost It was so good…and I finally got to hear Lake Charles after all these years. She never seemed to play it at any of the previous shows that I have been to. Before playing Mama You Sweet, she announced that she was playing it by request. She relied on the lyric book quite a bit for this one, but no big deal. I also loved her story behind I Lost It. When she was living in Houston, she would drive I-10 to Louisiana a lot and there was a period of time when everyone seemed to have a bumpersticker that read, I Found It…”so I wrote this song.” 🙂

Yes, one of my favorites off West, stoger.
You have Jazz Fest today and HOB tomorrow. DH and I made the HOB our first sustenance stop on my few days in the Crescent City. The gumbo was very good. According to our server, Robert Plant had stopped in the night before. That info was divulged in a conversation about Lu playing there on Friday.
