Up until Blessed was released, my favorite Lu songs were Blue and Sidewalks of the City. Having seeing Lu in Albany NY with my wife, at Lu’s Little Honey/Lu 08 tour, I fell in love with that album also. My wife passed away on 4/1/11, and at her goodby ceremony, I selected and had played several of the most meaningful songs that described our love of over 42 years.
Kiss Like Your Kiss was the most meaningful by far, and is one of the most beautiful love songs ever composed or performed by Lu. That will stay with me for the remainder of my life, and I thank Lu in my thoughts pretty much every day while I continue to have a difficult time of grieving. Kiss Like Your Kiss has helped immensely.
Sometimes I wonder whether song writers and performers like Lucinda truly realize how deeply they may touch myriads of people with their songs…. in a unimaginably healing ways.
