Ok here we go Tnt . The song by John Mann referring to the former 15 year old biotch

That’s what I get for being semi-retired . Lots of spare time to amuse the forum.
This all from the same concert with Kathleen.

I saw your recent posting on Kathleen’s message board.
I’m in real luck-being able to see Kathleen twice within the month.
This time in Toronto on December 14th.
It is a Holiday Jam Concert to benefit the Sick Kids Foundation at one of the best venue’s in Toronto. The Phoenix Theater.Best of all, tickets were only $39.50 plus a fee of $0.53 thru Ticket Break.
So nice to see some competition for Ticketmaster. Here is the link to the concert.

This will be a nice pre-Christmas treat for me.Regards.

Secondly, I am indeed jealous that you are seeing Kathleen yet again! 😮 Nothing would make my Christmas like the opportunity to see her live this month. Have fun & do please report back here with a concert report!
In a feeble attempt at “Kathleen Edwards one-upsmanship”, here is a quick pic of my aforementioned autographed gig poster I got at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, GA the first of this year. It’s just laid out on the floor in this photo – I’ve yet to get it framed (much like my 30+ Lu gig posters! 😳 ).

Here is how “Detective lwj” tracked the John Mann song “My Little Lamb” (Track # 16)
It preceded Kathleen’s biotch reference in track # 17 before she sang “Scared at Night”. The entire concert was taped audio only by CBC Radio’s show Concerts in Demand. Here is the link with certain dialogue bleeped out. The audio is excellent.
http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/cod/concerts/20090819rootsWhat a great autographed KE poster you have. How many of the 30+ Lu Gigs are also signed? I have the set list signed by Lu and the band(except for Butch) from the first night of the 30th Anniversary tour in Toronto posted previously in the shows thread plus a signed WEST tour poster from Lewiston, NY in July/07-Unfortunately signed only by Doug P. and Butch N. Lu went straight to the metal firecracker. It was a special outdoor concert opened by Charlie Louvan.
Back to Kathleen. I see we have at least one other fan in this Forum.
Bob posted under”Got a favorite verse recently reference to ‘McSorley, etc.Enjoy the music Tnt.

p.s
Tnt be sure to listen to Track#11 “Back to Me” Talks about her braces. It is hilarious.December 6, 2009 at 9:28 pm #41469LWjettaParticipantTnt
Here is another nice hockey story from Kathleen you might like since it’s close to your home.
It’s entitled ” Kathleen Edwards and the Atlanta Thrashers.
Love the takeoff on “Asking for Flowers” Oops, sorry “Asking for Bauers”http://www.driveafastercar.com/2008/01/20/kathleen-edwards-the-atlanta-thrashers/
I’m just filling in time during commercials on a lazy Sunday afternoon while watching the NFL.

About 1/3 to 1/2 of them are signed by Lu. A couple are also signed by Doug P.
Thanks for the links, LWJ…

What a great collection Tnt.
Now back to the Holiday Jam Benefit Concert last night with Kathleen Edwards and many others. The weatherman called for freezing rain and I couldn’t imagine a 1 and 1/2 hour drive at maybe midnight driving back home to Niagara in that weather. Right now it is really snowing out. Winter in Canada is nothing like the balmy weather of Georgia. Anyway, The $40.00 I spent on the ticket goes to a good cause The Sick Childrens Hospital. I’ll catch Kathleen again, I’m sure as she and Colin live about 40 minutes from me in Hamilton, ON and they do many gigs there.
Another Canadian music Country-Indie artist-Sarah Harmer- was also at last night’s show. She played “Eddie’s Attic” on March 11, 2006. See You Tube. I didn’t realize Eddie’s was such an intimate venue-no talking aloud.
That’s the best way to really enjoy a performer.
Here is a video from last night featuring Sam Roberts singing Kenny Roger’s “The Gambler” You will see our gal Kathleen having a drink while watching a hot poker game. Here is the link to NOW Magazine.

P.S. As our new Moderator, think you could ask Inside Job if he got that Essence tape re”Blue” from Lost Highway yet?

Yup. One of several reasons it is one of my favorite places to see live music!
I’m also a Sarah Harmer fan, LWJ, both as a solo act as well as the lead singer for the now disbanded Weeping Tile (as an aside, there is a hard-to-find Weeping Tile EP entitled, appropriately enough, EePee that has one of my favorite sad songs of all time, “Dogs And Thunder” – I tear up every time I hear it, but I am a huge dog lover as well as a sentimental fool 😉 ). In fact, I do believe I was at that Sarah Harmer show at Eddie’s in 2006, at least briefly. I was “sick as a dog” that night with a horrible chest cold & I lasted only through the opening act. We left w/o seeing Sarah, and, having never seen her live before (and still have not to this day), you know how bad I must have felt!
Tom
P.S. I will check w/ TO about the mystery “Blue”…
December 16, 2009 at 12:35 am #41473TOverbyParticipantI have not received it yet. Thanks for the reminder.

I’m a dog lover too-partial to American Cocker Spaniels.
“Dogs and Thunder” is very moving.
Just for something to do, the only You Tube on this beautiful song is as below: They don’t look like dogs to me!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dohKucQ2hYE&feature=PlayList&p=0BE38EFA469D6893&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=9
The only Sarah Harmer album I own is “I’m a Mountain”
One of the songs “Escarpment Blues” is one of my favorites. It’s about the Niagara Escarpment region where I live.
How fortunate we are to have so much great music to fill our library.

Tnt-Not clear if you actually have this EP in your collection.
Looks like it’s available from Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Eepee-Weeping-Tile/dp/B00005J8XDAlso, re Sarah Harmer’s “Dogs And Thunder” You Tube I posted really is more appropriate for NEIL’S annual Farm Aid festival-the factory farm message.

December 16, 2009 at 4:37 pm #41477LWjettaParticipantJust one more You Tube you might enjoy Tnt. from Monday’s Holiday Jam concert in Toronto on our two gals-Sarah and Kathleen.
This one is Jim Bryson singing “The Fisherman’s Blues ” song accompanied by Sarah singing with acoustic guitar and Kathleen on violin.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olCOj9G5Wug
Hey Tnt, I seem to remember a photo of another Sarah posing as the Statue of Liberty on the streets of NYC following Lu’s 1st night 30th Anniversary Tour last Fall. Great photo by the way.
