TnTracy, as you commented in another thread ( Anyone heard Dawn Landes yet? ) how much you liked Kathleen’s music here is a video from 2003 in Toronto with her singing “6 O’Clock News”
This was the Sars Epidemic Concert organized in less than a month by the Rolling Stones.

    Enjoy.

    Glad you enjoyed it TnT.

    Now , I’m on a roll.
Look at Kathleen singing Run @ Bush Hall , London, Eng. from 2008.

Here we see Kathleen playing the harmonica ( a la NEIL ) AND whistling would you believe.

p.s. I’m semi-retired and have lots of time to have a little fun on Lu’s forum and to explore our common ground of good music. ( By the way where’s Lefty? )

And, I’m an unemployed ne’er-do-well & middle-aged student, so I have lots of time to follow along… 😉

Lefty is taking an extended hiatus from our Friendly Forum due to personal & professional reasons. I have communicated with him via PM and he assures me he is doing fine – just that he no longer has time to post / moderate here in the forum. Regarding that, there should be an announcement in the near future regarding forum moderation…

P.S. Thanks fot that latest link, LWJ – good stuff!

OK I just checked Kathleen’s web site and discovered her last concert for 2009 is about a 3/4 hour drive from where I live in Ontario to the historic Riviera Theater in Buffalo this Thursday, Nov. 19th
She is opening for another Canadian band-Blue Rodeo.
    Here is a link.

    http://www.rivieratheatre.org/
Managed to get one ticket, Row F Orchestra front for a grand total of $40.50 thru Vendini tickets. ( none of the robbery fees from Ticketmaster)
The theater has a huge Wurlitzer organ installed since 1925.

Thans Tnt for Lefty’s status. Are you open for the moderator position?

Saw Kathleen last night in Buffalo. A great concert despite the pouring rain to get there.
A beautiful venue-the historic Rivera Theater built in the 1920’s

Found this article everyone might enjoy.
    Lucinda vs Kathleen.

    You are most welcome Tnt.
Since this is Sports Sunday ( NFL ),during commercials, I did a little more searching for Ms. Edwards.
Here we see Kathleen on the hockey rink. Her hubby, Colin Cripps ( lead guitarist ) is the referee on the ice.
Kathleen is singing ” I make the dough, you get the glory”.

Yeah, I’ve seem that video before. And, when I saw Kathleen & her husband Colin play Eddie’s Atic in Decatur, GA earlier this year she talked about filming this video before singing the song, explaining the significance of Marty McSorley vs. “The Great One” to us non-hockey-watching Southerners in the audience. 😉 She also joked about Colin getting a little jealous when she kissed McSorley near the end of the video.

I really loved the show. Not only is she a fantastic singer / songwriter, but she has an engaging & endearing stage presence. She had us laughing all evening. She also told a great story about getting hassled at the U.S. / Canadian border by a U.S. Customs agent about some undeclared concert T-shirts on the tour bus, when one of the tour members had something else on the bus that was more worrisome (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). When trying to convince the agent she was a musician & the shirts were for sale at her shows, the Customs agent replied, “Well, I’ve never heard of you. Were you on American Idol?” 🙄 😆 An hysterical story that she told so very, very well. I just wish she made it this far South much more often!

Tnt and others check this video. It is from a winery in the Niagara Region where I live. I wasn’t aware of the concert so I did not attend.

Kathleen’s intro to the song is so funny. Hope Tnt as our new moderator doesn’t “bleep” this one out.

OMG!!! 😯 😆 That is hysterical!!! I’d like to know what the previous song was that she compares her former-15-year-old-biotch-self to…

As for “bleeping”, no, I wouldn’t do that, even if I could yet (the switch has not been made as of yet, prolly ’cause WebMASTA is still in Cabo getting “wobbly” – or recovering from same  ). My intent as moderator-to-be (unless asked to do otherwise), is to continue the “Lefty Laissez-faire Legacy” (henceforth know as “The Three L’s” 😉 ). We are all grown-ups here (if not intellectually, than at least chronologically! 😉 ), and I think we have all heard “naughty-bits” before. As long as no one gets carried away and abuses this verbal (textual?) freedom, than you won’t hear a peep out of me (except to maybe jump in and share in on the fun 😈 ).

    Tom

P.S. I recommend to those not familiar with Kathleen Edwards listening to the entire YouTube video LWJ linked to above. After the hysterical intro is a truly beautiful song, “Scared At Night” off of her latest album, Asking For Flowers

That’s great Tnt. You have made my day with your comments.
The video took place at a winery 10 minutes from where I live.
I’m on a farm with peach trees and grape vines surrounding me.
If I venture to Georgia sometime down the road, I’ll be pleased to bring you a bottle of Vino from this winery ( Jackson-Triggs )
In the meantime enjoy this video from the same concert. -Yhis time with Kathleen on the violin doing 4 Strong Winds ( by Ian Tyson-covered many times by NEIL and Pegi )

Glad you didn’t “bleep” my post.
