Kansas City?

In March, I did not hesitate to score VIP tickets for my lady and I to see Lucinda Williams in Kansas City. We had seen her at the Blue Note in Columbia, Missouri and at the Pageant, in St. Louis. Following a day of landscaping together, we drove from Columbia to Kansas City, listening to Blessed on the way there. I stood in awe as I watched the misting rain move in to take up the lighted space between the band and us. To witness Lucinda Williams’ powerful artistry in such close proximity, arms entwined, bodies damp, smiles glistening, we were, as Patti Smith would say, in Seventh Heaven.
