AN EVENING WITH THE MAJESTIC SILVER STRINGS
    at The Grammy Museum
    Thursday, March 10, 2011; 8pm

The Majestic Silver Strings is a monumental musical experience by some of the finest musicians in the world. Produced by MSS member and artist extraordinaire, Buddy Miller, it will be released on CD — with bonus DVD — March 1, 2011 via New West Records. The album is a collection of re-interpreted country songs and a pair of new originals, loaded with guitars, depth, attitude and stunning guest vocalists. Just days after its release, you’ll hear Miller, along with esteemed musicians Marc Ribot, Bill Frisell and Greg Leisz in conversation about their diverse influences, wildly-impressive musical backgrounds and stunning guitar techniques. After the discussion, the foursome will take questions from the audience and perform a selection of songs from the new album. Executive Director Bob Santelli will moderate the event.

And Buddy Miller’s not too shabby, either. 😉 I think his was the best performance of anyone’s at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival last fall in San Francisco. 🙂

Tom, If I can muster the courage post-shred, I will totally look for a way to thank em in person. A buddy of mine is on their list, Danielle and I will try to get back there with him.

    Blake,

Have fun at the Grammy Museum show tonight. I will be next door at the Staples Center attending the Pac-10 basketball tournament.

I listened to your CD yesterday and liked it a lot. Congrats.

    thanks tony.

tom, i didnt see your last reply till just now! caught greg in the hall and passed on your guys’ well wishes, but just as a mystery fan.

holy cow… the band fucking smoked it. the show was filled with hilarity, incredible dynamics, and everyone up there had a unique story to tell on each tune. jay bellerose and dennis crouch were the sickest rhythm section in los angeles tonight…

so glad i went because i rarely go see live music. if only there were gigs like that going on more often; got me thinking about trying to put a night together with Val and some other cronies on the westside of town (venice, santa monica, etc.), could be great…
