Lu put on another great show tonight. Just can’t beat living 2 miles from the venue, arriving after the ticket queue and getting a parking spot on the street right in front of the venue just before Lu and the band take the stage, and a SRO spot right in front of the stage (OK, sort of to the side by the sound mixer, but then up front later!)
Here’s tonight’s set list as best as I could recollect (I may have missed one or two but if so this is pretty close):
Can’t Let Go
Car Wheels on a Gravel Road
People Talkin’
Pineola
Drunken Angel
Well Well Well
Concrete and Barbed Wire
Lake Charles
Side of the Road
Fruits of My Labor
Am I Too Blue
Born to be Loved
Convince Me
Buttercup
Real Live Bleeding Fingers
I Changed the Lock
Honey Bee
Blessed
Ain’t My Cross to Bear
Get Right with GodThanks again for a memorable evening, Lu. You and the band were great tonight! 🙂

Wow, what an enthusiatic welcome from the crowd.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogt3skeM9RE
And some great photos from the Arkansas Times.

OutSTANDING! I have to confess that I went with a bit of trepidation. A big Lucinda fan for many years, I had started to worry that her most recent efforts indicated a trend toward becoming a caricature of her own down-home self. And a few YouTube clips of recent live shows suggested a lackadaisical slide into a presumed heroine of her own song “Drunken Angel.” But last night at Juanita’s, she perFORMED! Maybe she was fired up by the political goings on (there were several references to the OWS movement, as well as a brazen hope that “the Republicans just shot themselves in their collective foot”). Maybe she was inspired by Juanita’s new digs (though I respectfully disagree, she pronounced it a great venue two or three times). Or, maybe, she just knows where she comes from. Of course, the crowd responded at each lyrical mention of an Arkansas town name. And she referenced her dad’s position at U of A-Fayetteville. But the “coming home” sentimentality was never so obvious as when she sent an admiring shoutout to her cousin Rep. Kathy Webb. I couldn’t help but get the feeling that Lu wrapped up a very special present to the denizens of Little Rock last night, showing her respect for a place that’s still special to her.
