“The Internet is the wrong direction for music.” Amazing! 😉

November 16, 2010 at 4:20 am #42716LafayetteParticipantThank you for posting, Lefty! One of the better interviews I’ve read in regards to latest tour.
As a 30 year JM fan, and one that has discovered Americana music and independent music over the past five years, this show John has put together is just amazing. I was told after the first show, by his WEBMASTAS, after they sat in on dress rehearsal, they knew I would love, love, love it. They know me so well. 8)
A lot of thought was put into this tour, from John’s paintings displayed in the front lobby to the show format to the documentary film mentioned in the interview. Standout moments of the film were watching John and his wife being baptized in the church in Savannah, seeing him record inside Sun Studios and Room 414 at Gunter Hotel along with session player David Roe testifying, in a conversation he had with Johnny Cash, that Johnny considered JM one of the top 10 songwriters of his generation.
TNT, I hope Chez Tracey has a vacancy next year (hopefully) as its still being tossed around as target
date for opening of “Ghost Brothers.”November 16, 2010 at 4:43 am #42717LafayetteParticipantA most informative and “right on’ review of the show. i’ll leave it at that.

So Lefty, two posts this year on JM, I think Lafayette must be overwhelmed. 😆

JM also is scheduled for a sit down at the desk with Letterman.
December 7, 2010 at 2:07 pm #42726LWjettaParticipantLetterman interviews aren’t really in depth to me.
I much prefer John interviewed by someone from NPR.
Lafayette, is this something new for John sporting the start of a beard ?
Also, I see he will be one of the first performers at the new Austin City Limits venue in downtown Austin.lwj

Yes, JM playing ACL, a first for him. I was going to go but decided against. I’m saving travel favors for (hopefully) Lu & Amos shows during that time period. Amos is playing The Ryman on the 8th of April with The Secret Sisters so I opted for that show over JM. 😯
World cafe interview from Friday.

Wrist is so much better, lwj. Today, so far, I’m almost back to my old self. Feels good after two months of pain and discomfort. I now have hand therapy to get back range of motion.

I had listened to the World Cafe on Friday, great interview (much better than Letterman)
I often check what’s going on at KCRW “Morning Becomes Electic” and found the Secret Sisters from Oct. 27/10
Enjoyable music with a lot of help from T. Bone Burnett. Should be a good opener for Amos.
Here’s the link.

John Cougar was on their independent label. Later on K-Tel went Chapter 11 both in Canada and the USA.
Glad to hear about your recovered wrist.
