Weather is quite cold that time of year, potential snowstorms, etc etc.

I’m sure there will be tons of YouTube videos from previous concerts by the time the Toronto show rolls around to help with your decision.

    Hey, Lafayette;
Figured I’d better grab a ticket for Toronto Feb. 9, 2010. DONE
Especially since a 2nd show has just been added for Feb. 10, plus a third leg in April with other Canadian stops.

Are you allready on the road today to Bloomington ?
A report please and I sure hope your wrist is “driveable”

    lwj…grab that ticket!

The most incredible show I have seen since JM had his heart attack in ’94. 2+ hours.

Will provide details later this week…Cincy show tomorrow.

I am still dealig with pain, spent most of my time in bed in hotel room yesterday before show. Cast gets put on tomorrow.

I read Christine Herndon’s report from Fri. night in Bloomington in the Herald Times.
    Outstanding-26 songs + a movie. Now that’s value.
I took a peek at the Music Hall venue for tonight in Cincy. Beautiful.
Sure hope the pain subsides for you. Perhaps you should bring along a pen tonight just in case you have the opportunity to get your cast signed by the band. Now that would be a great momento.
Enjoy the show plus Indy and Nashville coming up.

Band sigs will have to wait. Theater tours provide better access to Mr. Mellencamp. We waited for JM at his traveling dressing room (his Airstream) behind Music Hall. He signed my cast, a leather tour jacket I have from a previous tour, and took a photo. Unfortunately, (for me) he looked away as our pic was snapped. He was tired but accomodated the group I was with. Two of my friends. Christine, the fellow blogger with HTO counting as one, had song lyrics tatted after the Bloomington show and asked JM to sign near the lyrics. No doubt today they are looking for another tatoo shop.

My wrist, after the splint was removed, proved to be a “franken wrist”…3 pins poking outside of my fracture. I never realized they were temporary. Removal set for early December providing I heal properly. I chose a black cast which is now sporting a silver Mellencamp siggie.

Wow, what a souvenir, would love to see a pic of the “siggie” on a black cast Lafayette, unless of course you are too shy 😆 to post it on this FF. You could send a newbie JM fan (me) a PM with the pic.
Sounds like you a great time at Music Hall.
Here is an excellent read from the Enquirer. Were the same 26 songs done last night as in Bloomington ?

Glad I got my ticket for Toronto.

Here is amazing photo gallery from JM’s Nashville show at The Ryman, taken by a fellow Mellenhead with a photo pass. Excellent shots for someone who pursues it more as a hobby than call it a career. I had a front row seat along with 3 other mellenbuds. You can see me in the shadows in a few and fairly visible in one shot.

One of the songs I shot at Cincinnati’s Music Hall, a new one, “Thinking About You”

I’ll get you a closeup photo of my cast, lwj, soon.

Here are a few shots from the road.

John looked away. He hates having his photo taken. Can you tell? 😆

    Great report and photos Lafayette.
Enjoyed your video from Music Hall on one of the new songs.
I assume that’s you in the front row at the Ryman wearing the cheap straw cowboy hat.
How did you snag a first row ticket or maybe like in Windsor you relocated to the front.
Nice to see a much longer concert from John.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a black cast before.
Are you able to drive your LDLF vehicle OK with the cast ?

Alas. I was not the one wearing the hat in front row at Ryman, I was standing next to her. She went to the St. Louis show last night, and according to her facebook post, was pulled up on stage and danced with JM during R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A. John likes her, she has multiple JM related tatoos and he has signed her twice… once on the upper arm and most recently her forearm at the Cincinnati show.

The front row tickets were purchased online during presale.

Drive..drive you ask? Yup, I’m trying to get by on extra strength tylenol for pain management…i have/had Mellencamp shows to drive to…priorities, ya know! Still in pain, really sucks.

Now, I need a Lu show and an Amos show along with Lu friends to sign to complete the cast. The orthopedic surgeon and his asst/nurse knew my priorities were to make it to the shows. I’ll have a little fun with them when I go to have it removed (with the JM sig)..a day I both dread and look forward to (hopefully the beginning of end of the pain) . I was told to take a vicodin before I come in to have the pins removed. I think I’ll take two.

When I was asked the color of cast I would want and replied black, the nurse said ” I knew you would choose that color.” 8)
