Looking forward to it, Mr. Tracy! So glad you and Sarah are attending and will be meeting some of “The Crazy Ones” aka Mellenheads.
September 12, 2011 at 2:04 pm #42761LafayetteParticipantMy friend’s photo of Willie, JM, & Neil from Farm Aid in KC was published in the Rolling Stone magazine!

I just received JM’s e-mail on the new Fall tour.
Boy Lafayette, I have 2 choices to see John.
Oct. 28 in London, ON ( my home town ) + Amos in Toronto, ON on October 27th
Or October 29 in Hamilton, ON ( only a 45 minute drive for me.)
How’s the gossip news these days about John and Meg Ryan?
Are you stll travelling to Kansas City for Farm Aid next month?lwj
Did you choose a show yet, lwj? IF you plan on seeing JM this fall, looks as though you will have to opt for Hamilton, ON as he has cancelled his London, ON gig due to schedule conflict.

Wonder what the schedule conflict was, It’s only a 6 hour drive from JM’s show in Montreal previous night to London.EDIT found this from the London Free Press.

Anyway, Lafayette I’m off to see Lu in Buffalo on Nov. 6 and am 99.99 % going to see Amos L. and Pieta B.( a first) in Toronto. Gotta watch my fixed pensioner income so I may miss JM in Hamilton, but then you never know. I find it easy to get a single ticket.
Thanks for letting me know.lwj
September 28, 2011 at 9:19 pm #42764tonygKeymasterI have been to Hamilton many times. The steel city! Been to Copps Coliseum, is that where he is playing?

Stelco, the steel plant now owned by a US company has been on strike for quite a while now.
John is playing at Hamilton Place Theatre downtown. OUCH! ticket prices are $108.75-$142.00.
Got a feeling like the article I posted above that high prices and perhaps slow sales cancelled the London gig.Copps Coliseum, been there many times for shows plus hockey. The Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL play there.
Hamilton would be a perfect city to join the NHL to compete with the luckless Toronto Maple Leafs or the Buffalo Sabres.lwj
September 29, 2011 at 2:38 am #42766LafayetteParticipantYes, I would assume scheduling conflict translates to poor ticket sales. 😕
lwj, I think you would really enjoy the show. It’s 2+ hours in length (first time in many years he has played this length of show, average before was 90 minutes) with many songs re-arranged, which I love, but the average concert goer seems not to like. They want to hear the hits which you get at the end of the show. This is the last leg of the tour promoting “No Better Than This.” I understand it’s a steep price but it’s worth the cost of the ticket, IMHO.
I just checked Grand Rapids MI. Their lower priced tickets are $50.00.

I think JM would be hard pressed to sell Copps Coliseum. Those days are history. He said he’s making records these days as more of a calling card.

October 20, 2011 at 12:35 am #42771LafayetteParticipantIs there anyone in and around the Columbus, OH area interested in FREE tickets to see John at the Palace Theater? I have access up to 6 seats, they are in the balcony.
Date of show is Wednesday, November 2. The tickets will be in my name at the box office, I can meet you there.
October 31, 2011 at 2:17 am #42772LafayetteParticipant“Check It Out”; Farm Aid in Kansas City, KS in August.
I pop up in the audience at the 2:44 mark. 😀
November 18, 2011 at 2:26 pm #42773LafayetteParticipantWhile all my Lu friends will be in San Fran this Saturday, I’ll be in Indianapolis at a JM show. HOWEVER, on a whim, I bought a ticket for next January’s show in LA with Blake opening! Not sure if I can make it yet, but I wanted a ticket in hand, just in case.
