    Sometimes, JM blows me away with his off the cuff moments. He visited homeless shelter and invited all in room to his Detroit show several weeks ago. great little blog.

    It’s sad to know it’s been confirmed but many of us suspected as such. Elaine notably had been missing from the Farm Aid show and the first leg of the tour. I saw her in Bloomington at the second show. She was ALWAYS with John at his public appearances & tours. I think she only missed a handful of appearances before the split due to her commitments.

    It’s sad they are splitting after such a long time together. John, over the past 20 years, IMO, has been a better person because of Elaine. Ironically, this past tour he seems to have been in great spirits. You just never know.

    Wonderful article on Troye, Lafayette.Thanks for posting.
    I receive the JM newsletter in my email but don’t very often sign on to the community.
    Great how Troye and Miriam work so closely between shows.
    Photos and videos were great. I see one was from Cinci.
    I’ve got my calendar noted to watch A&E private sessions tomorrow.
    Hope the weather cooperates for my Toronto JM concert.

    lwj…Review of last night’s show, kickoff of second leg. John has mixed up the setlist from last leg (YAY!). It was also noted on mellencamp email list he performed a “real” encore (which he has repeatedly said he does not like, however, he must have caved from complaints of noncompliance from past shows.) The encore was “She’s So Tough” a Mink Deville song (1978). According to band members trading emails with website coordinator…”it was tried as a true encore and was pretty rocking and John killed it by all accounts.”

    Well Lafayette, call me a disappointed JM fan.
    Instead of being in Toronto right now at the concert I’m sitting in a hotel room south of Buffalo.(near Erie, PA)
    A meeting was scheduled for Friday for my work at our US location but was pushed up to early Thurs. a.m.
    Duty calls.
    So I at least made another JM fan happy and sent my ticket confirmation/credit card info to my niece who lives just outside of Toronto to pick up my ticket at the will call.
    Anyway, I am thinking about attending tomorrow night if I’m back in time.(single tickets are possible)

    Nope. I got back home about 6:00 p.m.
    Interesting- tickets were still available.
    My niece was thrilled with the show.
    Certainly some nice newspaper reports on Massey Hall plus some videos to watch.

    Sure some neat venues John has scheduled to play in June, July after a looooong absence from Europe.
