Los Angeles peeps (meaning Paul) beware: John Doe is playing The Mint Tuesday October 18 with Dead Rock West opening. I will have to break my rule about shows on a work night again. The rule actually doesn’t seem to be working at all, really.

    Thanks, Tony.

Cindy, from Dead Rock West, had already informed me of the Mint show of Oct. 18, when I spoke with her at the Gillian Welch show on Sept. 29.

Good one Lefty. I’m going to keep the rule there, just in case. See you Tuesday Paul.

Great show at The Mint last night. It started on a bad note with a band from Denver called Snake Rattle Rattle Snake, who made terrible noises for about 45 minutes. At 9:30 we were rescued by Cindy and Frank as a Dead Rock West duo. They were great as always. John Doe came out around 10:30 with his band, joined by Cindy, and played about an hour and a half. He played a lot of his new album Keeper, and some oldies from the X days. There was a decent size crowd on a Tuesday night.

Lots of fun was had chatting with Cindy, Frank, and John before and after the show. I told John I was looking forward to seeing X in December. And its true.

Our website was well represented as always by the usual suspects.

Well she was right. She wrote a song about it.
