    Tom O – any word on which song Lu might do? I still like Rocky Mountain High, even if it is a little hokey and the high notes might be hard to hit.

    Denver gets tributed by Matthws, Williams, Carpenter

    Monday, October 22, 2012 – John Denver, killed 15 years a plane crash, will get the tribute treatment from the likes of Dave Matthews, Lucinda Williams, Train and Brandi Carlile.
    ATO Records will celebrate Denver’s life and music with “The Music Is You: A Tribute to John Denver,” with February 2013 release.

    A portion of the proceeds will be benefit environmental initiatives in Denver’s name.

    Songs on the disc are:

    Yes, Leaving on a Jet Plane would have been a good one, and Back Home Again would have been another Lu style song. But for sure whatever she chooses, she’ll work her magic on it and make it special. 🙂

    Personally, I would have voted for “Take Me Home Country Roads” for Lu, but that one is spoken for as well (and I am sure Ms. Carlile will do it proud).
