Nice 16-song (90 minute) set for the festival headliner. No complaints about the song selections at all from my vantage point, but I do wonder about the absence of GOHW20. I just knew she would chat us up about the song origin and the location of the festival considering Meridian is actually on HW20! But, alas, not to be.
I got nervous for a moment with the frog-in-the-throat coughing hesitation during Can’t Let Go. No cause for alarm, though. Show energy kept blazing without a hitch.
Lu’s biggest smile of the night was when she turned her attention to the toddlers in the arms of parents down front stage right during GRWG. The little kids were clapping and she started right in with them to encourage them along. Sweet moment.
Festival curfew got us at 10:05.
On to Nashville…
