Bar none, in my humble foot tapping boogieing(?) opinion.Loved it the first time and still love it.

October 30, 2007 at 12:20 pm #32136FerranParticipantThese days amb listening a lot: MAGIC of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. Great!!
Also, I listen the last Elliott Murphy cd: Coming home again. Very, very good!

“…a collection of songs about love, hate, lust and transcendence…though not exactly in that order…like a sprawling decathlon of skewered, fractured, f**ked-up pop that sounds like a perfectly pieced collage.”

Sung with great conviction (well, let’s forget about track #8 🙄 )January 18, 2008 at 2:44 am #32143parkercaParticipantNever was a fan of “Man Gave Names To All The Animals”. Made a good childrens book though.
When are we going to get a Bootleg series of one of his “Born Again” shows? That would be awesome.

Soap and WaterJanuary 20, 2008 at 5:23 pm #32145Ronny ZamoraParticipantThanks for that last post. I only got into Lucinda 12 months ago, when I heard her interview with Bob Harris on Radio2 – it was just before ‘West’ was releaded and ‘Wrap My Head Around That’ was the very first track I heard. I’ve never looked forward to the release of an album as much as that one for a long time. Now 12 months on I have everything that is commercially available including both 5CD sets and saw her twice last year too.
I was not familiar with Chuck Prophet either – but have just been checking out some stuff on YouTube and just know I am going to have to start buying up his stuff too. Do you have any recommendations of where to start ? – I love the heavier guitar stuff in particular.
January 21, 2008 at 6:32 pm #32146coffee4throadParticipanthi ronny, you sound like a real lucinda hound. i have most of her commercial stuff, too. i’ve seen her twice, once in 2003 and then last year. both great shows.
i’m new to Chuck P after just hearing his recent interview on NPR which got me interested.
there is a live concert of his at NPR.org you can listen to online which is pretty good. i just picked up his most recent 3 albums as listed, gonna get a couple Red on Green disks soon, i’ll let you know about them.
he was with them before he went solo…January 22, 2008 at 5:49 am #32147Ronny ZamoraParticipantThanks for that – I will check out the NPR site. I also found some stuff on the ‘Sugarmegs’ site (which was recommended on another thread on here) – which you can download free of charge (and very quickly). I transfer it to my ipod and take it to work with me.
