The link is funky. Only up for a moment and then goes blank. Just imagine the possiblities. Return tweeting (also known as RT) to Erika.

I can’t speak for Lefty’s neck of the woods, but I’m purty-near certain that there’s illegal here in the Deep South… 😯

May 12, 2009 at 7:36 pm #36740LeftyParticipantYou get into some of the backwoods areas up here (where the militias rehearse for the next Revolution) and it’s pretty much anything goes. “Don’t ask, don’t tell…tweet softly and carry a big stick…”

I’ll help out your Erika cause, Lefty, with my own plug –
Now that is a bargain price for a really good album! Seriously! I have the physical CD, paid 6 times as much, and still think it was well worth what I paid for it. $1.99 to download 256 kbps MP3s of the whole album is a great deal…

(Note to self: Bring possum with me to next HBs gig I attend and maybe Erika will autograph it for me!)

Definitely expect to see your Detroit review posted here, LW. Please & Thank You!
Sorry, didn’t make it to the Motor City due to work commitments but I gave the tickets to my sister and husband who live fairly close to Detroit.
They loved Erika’s strong voice and in particular thought the songs Gray and the Mountain were great.
The venue was in a converted church.Anyway, all is not lost, as I now have tickets for August 3rd in Toronto at the Kool Haus-a major Indie venue.
The HB’s are opening for the Decemberists- I’ve checked them out- great sound-4 guys & 2 gals in the band. Will report.
Now back to Lu.
Regards.LWJ
June 9, 2009 at 4:28 pm #36727LeftyParticipantAll is forgiven, LWj – – but, you may want to send a note to Erika, explaining your absence! Looking forward to your August review…

July 6, 2009 at 1:50 am #36725LeftyParticipantThanks for those links, friends.
Those were some pretty sweaty looking Bastards at Bonnaroo 😳July 8, 2009 at 4:34 pm #36719LeftyParticipanthttp://www.citybeat.com/cincinnati/blog-843-heartless-bastards-stay-busy-go-country.html
As if touring with Jenny Lewis, The Decemberists and The Avett Brothers (plus doing shows with Andrew Bird and Wilco and playing just about every big summer music fest out there) wasn’t enough, Cincinnati-bred Heartless Bastards have been working on new country material. HB singer/songwriter/guitarist Erika Wennerstrom and Alex Mass of psych-rockers The Black Angels have teamed up for a side-project called Sweet Tea (Bastards Jesse Ebaugh and Dave Colvin also lend a hand), performing classic country songs (you know, before Garth Brooks and Shania Twain ruined it all).
Sweet Tea will have its debut recordings — Tim Hardin’s “If I Were A Carpenter” (done Johnny and June Cash-style — via Lou Reed and Nico) and Ray Price’s “Crazy Arms” — released to digital outlets later this month; a white vinyl 7-inch version is due later this summer.
Mass also joined the Bastards during the recent taping of their Austin City Limits TV appearance and did “Carpenter” with them. While there is still no air date yet for the show, it has been revealed that the group will share the hour-long show with a set from the legendary Sonic Youth. – – ❗ ❗ ❗ 8)
