Lucinda Williams I have admired your songs and been inspired by them for 25 years. I made Minneapolis MN my hometown for the past 40 years. My roots run deep here as my grandparents lived on Longfellow Ave in S Minneapolis. I’ve been coming to this city since I was born 70 years ago. The brutal murder of Mr. George Floyd, in broad daylight by a Minneapolis Police Officer [ while 3 other officers stood by ] sparked the fuse on a powder keg that has erupted across the nation. My mind, heart and soul have been hurt and anguished by everything that has happened all over the country the past few weeks. I’ve not experienced anything like it since 1968 and that wasn’t a banner year for peaceful protest either. The UNITED States of America has a lot of work to do to make everyones path to pursue “Life, Libery & Happiness”. You cannot kneel on someones neck for 400 years and expect that your oppression will not come home to roost. (you sow what your reap). I was excited to hear you had a new record out “Good Souls better Angels”. I like angels and souls so the title drew me in right away. I got my CD in the mail today and listened to it …… the songs and music are AMAZING. It has helped to lift my spirit and restore my soul and given my mind plenty to mull over. It’s great. I love it = powerful words and music. Kudos to you in these tenuous time. I am “Day-to-Day” {I miss baseball} myself.I am going to “Keep on Keepin’ On” g t ochs
