    I have just seen that Lucinda has recorded two songs (It’s Nobody’s Fault But Mine / God Don’t Never Change) for an album with newly recorded versions of Blind Willie Johnson tunes called “God don’t never change – the songs of Blind Willie Johnson”, to be released on Alligator Records on February 26 2016.
    Other contributors are Tom Waits, Sinéad O’Connor, Rickie Lee Jones and Maria McKee…

    I’ve heard Lu cover this at least once, maybe twice. This was a solo acoustic performance.

    I got the CD yesterday — all the tracks are pretty great (Lu’s are standouts, of course). Just in case anyone is curious, the band on both tracks is Doug Pettibone on guitar, along with David and Butch on the rhythm section. Tom and Lu produced and recorded it at Dave’s Garage with Dave Bianco engineering, so I imagine these recordings are of a fairly recent vintage.
